Being patient with others isn’t always easy. People may misunderstand us, disappoint us or simply move at a different pace than we would like. Yet God calls us to respond with humility, gentleness and love.
When we choose patience instead of frustration, we reflect God’s character. After all, God has shown us incredible patience, giving us grace when we fall short and continuing to love us when we don’t deserve it.
Patience doesn’t mean ignoring wrong behavior or avoiding difficult conversations. It means choosing to respond with grace rather than anger, remembering that God is still working in both us and others.
Every time we patiently listen, forgive, encourage or give someone room to grow we demonstrate the love of Christ. Our patience can become a quiet testimony that points others toward God.
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
- Ephesians 4:2
