Sutton borough and residents of Worcester Park - this is a petition to stop the proposed closure of Ruskin Drive, Colborne Way and to remove the Browning Ave bus gate please read/sign/share moderngov.sutton.gov.uk/mgEP…
Disgraceful that @SuttonCouncil wouldn’t even admit that the petitions should have been heard at full council! There’s nothing confusing, the petitions had over 1500 signatures! To say it’s about outcome & not entitlement and to suggest petitioners got a better deal is insulting!
Sutton Lib Dems block a huge petition from debate at full Council. Now they've spent tonight arguing that this wording is unclear:
"If a petition contains more than 1500 signatures it will be debated by the full Council"
Does this seem unclear to you?

This piece by @VictoriaPeckham on LTNs is absolutely bang on. Whilst the LTN in her area has nudged her into cycling and given her a quiet street, she is all too aware of the high price paid by others.
thetimes.co.uk/edition/comme…
Hard-hitting article about the reality of introducing LTNs around major arterial routes: “People live on these main roads, and it’s the poorer people who live on them. "Gloating that your children can now go out and play or cycle does not help things." newsshopper.co.uk/news/18616…
@Cllr_m_abellan @CllrBatt @SuttonCouncil@SuttonLibDems@scullyp#ltnfailkt4 absolutely embarrassed by the poor planning that has gone into this pro cycle scheme. After I stoppef filming a child unseen by a frustrated driver nearly got hit.
Very unclear that there is a fine generating camera until cars are in the ‘fine zone’, no extra road markings, poor signage. Residents having to direct the traffic to avoid accidents! #browningkt4
@SuttonCouncil @Cllr_m_abellan Cars don’t know where to go, camera signs only inside of the ‘fine zone’ No road markings? Assuming fines won’t be enforceable until the road narrowing bollards are in place in a weeks time?! Residents having to direct the traffic! #ltnfailkt4
@SuttonCouncil @ruthdombey @Cllr_m_abellan @LGOmbudsman@suttonguardian@DailyMailUK When will Sutton Council listen to local residents calling to stop the part closure of Browning Avenue?Over 2500 signatures calling for this scheme to be stopped before it’s implemented #ignored
Petition ignored, emails ignored, FOI requests ignored & ward councillors @CllrBatt & @Drew1403 refusing to speak with residents! Incorrect quotes re:outdated road traffic data supplied and the list goes on! #shameful#listentolocalresidents
@grantshapps A prime example @SuttonCouncil using @TfL money to implement a poorly thought out LTN which over 2500 local residents have called to stop, before it is put in place on 21/09. They are actively ignoring residents and refuse to consult with us!
