The quantum debate is about wallets. But the first thing to break will be your messages. Intelligence agencies do not need a quantum computer today to hurt you. They need storage. Encrypted traffic gets recorded in bulk now, and decrypted in a few years when the hardware arrives. The practice has a name, harvest now, decrypt later, and it has been standard practice for years. So the timeline runs backwards from how people think about it. A wallet is at risk the day someone can derive your key. A message you sent in 2026 is at risk the day it was sent, because the copy already exists. Signal, iMessage and Chrome moved to post-quantum encryption quietly, nobody noticed, which is how infrastructure upgrades should look. Crypto has the harder version of the problem: nobody can press the button for you. Your keys, your migration. NEAR did its part: post-quantum account keys live since July, one click to rotate. The rest of the stack, and the messenger on your phone, is a separate question.

Few places can claim both an ancient hero and a modern act of defiance as part of their story. Ukraine's Snake Island can. 🧵 1/11 ⬇️

There is no racism in Ukraine - say black residents of Ukraine. This reminded me of how a pro-Russian BBC journalist in 2012, on behalf of Russia, as was later proven, filmed fake videos about racism in Ukraine so that the Euro would not be allowed to be held in Ukraine and Poland. They even hired people for this.

Ukraine answered our call for help after the 9/11 attacks and deployed 5,000 soldiers despite not being in NATO. 18 Ukrainian soldiers perished. Now while defending Europe alone from Russia, Ukraine sent drone specialists to help protect our soldiers in the Middle East. Painful.
SECRETARY RUBIO: The U.S. is constantly asked to help in wars and we have. But when we had a need, it didn’t get positive responses from NATO. A couple leaders said that Iran was not Europe’s war. Well, Ukraine isn’t our war, yet we’ve contributed more to that fight than anyone.

🎄🎤 As we reflect on 2025, it was mainly a year of tears and toil. But in Ukraine, we see the human spirit thrive in the worst times. This was one of our most popular reels the past year: The inspiring Lviv choir Homin was performing in lovely seaside Odesa when the Russians began to attack. So the choir and the audience retreated to the undercroft of the concert hall and carried on. Here they sing a defiant, joyful Ukrainian folk song from the 1960s: Chervona Ruta. God bless this land and its free people.

What the Media Will Never Tell You About Pokrovsk Have you heard about Pokrovsk, that Ukrainian city that ALL the experts predicted would fall into Russian hands in September 2024? Yes, 2024. Well, Ukrainians have held it now FOR TWO CHRISTMASES since then. And do you know this—actually, no you don't because the media never report it: Pokrovsk means "Protective Veil of the Virgin Mary"—which is quite fascinating, given that Pokrovsk has literally been a protective veil for Ukraine, holding the line, preventing the Russians from running all the way through left-bank Ukraine. In fact, one could say Ukrainians are the protective veil for all of Europe! It's sad how media miss such details. What nice Christmas copy this would have been—copy that just might wake up the imagery-loving folk in the White House.
