📍: WHO South-East Asia Regional Immunization Technical Advisory Group (SEAR-ITAG) “Measles outbreaks reflect persistent immunity gaps. We need to rethink how we deliver immunization so that vaccines reach everyone, especially those who are currently being missed” said Prof Rakesh Aggarwal, Chair of the WHO South-East Asia Regional Immunization Technical Advisory Group, at the inaugural of the 17th meeting of SEAR-ITAG. Prof Aggarwal highlighted the need to look beyond overall vaccination coverage and focus on subnational and hard-to-reach communities where gaps persist. Local data and epidemiology should guide focused immunization efforts for better use of resources and to reach the most vulnerable communities. #VaccinesWork #Immunization #Measles #HealthForAll

📍: WHO South-East Asia Regional Immunization Technical Advisory Group (SEAR-ITAG) Progress must not become complacency. While the Region has made important gains in immunization, persistent immunity gaps, inequities in coverage and ongoing measles outbreaks require targeted action. We need stronger use of local data, improved surveillance and catch-up vaccination to reach underserved and hard-to-reach populations, alongside sustained investment in immunization programmes. - Dr Nilesh Buddha, Officer-in-Charge, WHO South-East Asia Region. #VaccinesWork #Immunization #Measles #HealthForAll

Early diagnosis, generic medicines, surgery, and radiotherapy can give a child a real chance at recovery. World Health Organization South-East Asia retweeted
VIDEO | Delhi: WHO Representative to India Dr Yvan J-F Hutin on pharmacovigilance, says, "I think what we are working on this week is strengthening pharmacovigilance, to connect with the rational use of medication so that, as the State Minister (Anupriya Patel) was saying, India can not only become the pharmacy of the world, but also a leader in patient safety and pharmacovigilance. I think that's the strategic direction of the Ministry, and the one that we're very happy to support as WHO." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)
