Pinkham Notch foliage today. 3500ft & higher are at peak. 2500-3500ft I'd put at high to very high and heading towards peak. 2500 and lower is at low, moderate, or high pending on where you go northward. Now, how much will remain after upcoming wind and rain this weekend... 😬

My #sunrise pic I posted for work this morning. It's a bit slick up here.
The top of Mt. Washington was in the clouds overnight as temps plunged into the upper 20s, leaving a fresh coating of rime ice down to about 5800ft. Here's the view at sunrise (23 Sept 2026) looking towards the northern summits of the Presidential Range from our instrument tower.

Well, a first for me tonight - went out to take the measurements for the midnight observation to find a dude just strolling around the summit, buck naked. When asked what he was doing, he stated, "Just exploring"

While I'd put fall colors in the lower terrain at slight to low as of yesterday, for elevations about 4000 feet, I'd put it at very high, boarding peak. This was the view yesterday heading up just below Cragway Turn.
