This has become more clear to me this year. The more I've used AI, the less I need any app because the AI will accomplish any task in a custom way. In a way that fits me better than any app out there can.
As for the UI, obviously we always have to have some sort of interface, but I think it's going to shift to mainly natural speech. And any graphical interface will most likely be custom. People's "home screens" or "dashboards" will be tailored to them by their AI who understands them. Right now I have to use a generic Apple UI that they feel fits most people's needs.

Ahhh, so I already connect through plaid in Grok chat and the connections all transferred automatically to grok bot.
The Plaid finance link has been live in regular Grok chat since early September. This announcement simply adds the same read-only connector to Grok Bot via the marketplace, so existing links carry over automatically.

Have a wastewater pipe leaking in my house. Took pictures uploaded to Grokbot. I used Grokbot conversation mode for the first time. It helped me find my insurance company, figure out if I should make a claim, filled out the forms, submitted it and now I'm waiting for the remediation team to call me.
Muse couldn't get past one of the logins, but Grokbot could.

I was in there for a few minutes just dumbfounded. Grant is a legitimate sadistic psychopath. Clearly gets this weird pleasure out of crafting the best possible arrangement of words to make someone feel horrible. I was listening to him go after the dude Meta and it was legitimately psychotic the way he tried to knife him with words. Just so over the top psychotic. And then you’ve got Omar just being all cavalier pretending to compliment/appear unbothered by someone he obviously can’t stand. some dude everyone was calling Yaman going off like he forgot to take his Valium. Total shitshow. And then Lincoln is just in there for some reason trying to offer a normal take for all of these totally insane individuals. Not sure why people like him even spend time in those spaces.

It's not that there are no apps, but there will be no app store. I think Apple could seriously be in trouble. They may miss the pivot to fully AI controled phones.
AI phones will generate whatever "app" you need to display the data you want.... when you want it and how you want it.
It just seems to me that it would take more time for an agent to set up a map that I need to review that should be in the same format every single time and have all of my past information already in it.
I can definitely see the upside of these agents, knowing a lot more information about me and what I do that can be helpful with a map, for example
I think the sweet spot is going to be agents that have access and utilize these systems on your behalf instead of getting rid of them
