Former software engineer at Apple is whistleblowing She says whenever Apple launches a new phone, they would push an update to older iPhones with malware to slow them down. This pushes people to upgrade “I used to be a software engineer at Apple, and with every new phone that was released, malware was installed on the older phones to make you have to update, so your phone's not just glitching. It's doing that on purpose. Share before it's deleted” She’s telling the truth, this was proven in court The 2017 “Batterygate” scandal, where Apple was caught deliberately slowing down older iPhones through software updates Apple was caught red handed doing this they even admitted it in court Apple released iOS updates that intentionally throttled and reduced CPU performance. This caused phones to feel slower, glitchy and laggy Apple’s stated reason: To prevent unexpected shutdowns caused by aging lithium-ion batteries

This is why it should be easy to replace the battery. This kind of business practice should be punished so hard they don't dare do it again. Software updates should be vetted for only increasing performance, regardless of how old the device is. If it hinders it in any way, violation of law. If a device is older than a certain amount of time, separate updates for cut off kine devices or no more updates at all. If a device is so old it can't run much newer apps, then those devices simply can't run them. A basic or light version could accommodate. 5 year model gaps for this software limitation. Stop ripping people off with planned obsolescence!

We’ve known this for years. Most cell Phone companies do the same thing with their services. They slow down your speed the longer you’re on their network. When you upgrade they speed you up for a period until they really want you to upgrade again.

Absolute sickening and disgusting as we know that each update slowly kills your phone….💯 Is there any integrity left or is everything just a cash grab? 😟

lol "malware" is doing a lot of work here. it's called battery throttling and they got sued for it years ago — not exactly a whistleblow when there's a public settlement

It’s not like everyone will switch to Android. Windows phones are DOA. Tesla phones haven’t hit the market. So if Apple wanted they could keep doing it with malice and intentional harm, get sued for almost pennies and just do it again. Also the Bar Association won’t stop them.

Using the Microsoft business model… it was obvious we all knew it. They push out updates before the Christmas season around October and low and behold by the time you get around to taxes, your computer starts to crash.

This is also why I never rush to upgrade a technology or device in general. iPhones in particular I will wait 3 years if possible before upgrading, that way the upgrade is necessary due to wear and tear. Upgrading for a new processor or display on a phone is pointless.

Never forget that iPhones are made by child slave labor in China. The children seek to jump out their high rise cage windows so often to end their terrible suffering, that nets are installed to catch the little broken souls. And they're sent right back to work again, on iPhone's newest model. Just for you.

Planned obsolescence: In economics and industrial design, planned obsolescence is the concept of policies planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life or a purposely frail design. In this case malware speeds up the process.

What is true is the 2017 “Batterygate” issue: Apple was found to have introduced a feature in iOS that reduced performance on older iPhones with degraded batteries. The stated goal was to prevent sudden shutdowns, and Apple later confirmed this and issued an apology, battery replacement discounts, and a clearer battery health feature. However, calling it “malware” or saying Apple was secretly installing malicious software is not accurate and was not proven in court. It was a controversy about performance management and transparency, not intentional malicious infection or external sabotage. So in short: there was wrongdoing related to transparency and throttling, but the “malware” framing goes beyond what was actually established.

You’re clearly not an engineer because batterygate was them slowing down your phone with under 20% battery left so it didn’t turn off. As batteries age they no longer hold the same charge and instead of your phone turning off at 10% it slowed down instead. This explanation is too complicated for retards.

💡 Apple slowed down your old iPhone on purpose. Got caught. Paid $650 million in fines. But here's the math nobody talks about — 220 million iPhones sold per year. Average price: $900. Even 10% upgrading early = $19.8 BILLION in extra revenue. They paid $650 million. On a potential $19.8 billion gain. That's not a scandal. That's a business model with a legal budget. 🙂💡 #Apple #Batterygate #PlannedObsolescence #iPhone

This is EXACTLY HAPPENING to me RIGHT NOW! I turned down their offer for a new phone a couple weeks ago and as soon as O did my phone has been getting worse by the hour. This must be against the law!! I don’t want a new phone. I don’t want a 5G compatible phone. Planned and ENFORCED OBSOLESCENCE MUST BE AGAINST THE LAW!!
