🚨 Every parent needs to know this — before it’s too late. At 16, a teenager can get a U.S. passport with the involvement or awareness of just ONE parent. No second-parent consent required. The Hague Convention — the main international tool for quickly returning abducted children — stops working at age 16. Once that passport is issued, international travel becomes straightforward. One parent can facilitate the entire process during what seems like a normal visit. Picture this: Your 16-year-old goes to stay with the other parent for a weekend. They visit a passport agency together. The passport is approved. Hours later, they’re on a flight out of the country. Your child is gone. No automatic legal mechanism exists to bring them home. This isn’t rare speculation — it’s a documented gap in protection that destroys families. Teens can make impulsive, life-altering choices in the middle of conflict, but they cannot easily undo being removed from their home, school, friends, the other parent, and their entire future in the United States. We are failing our 16- and 17-year-olds. Secretary Rubio, President Trump—this loophole needs urgent attention from the State Department and Congress. Here’s what must change: - Require meaningful two-parent awareness (or court order) for passports until age 18 - Strengthen and expand automatic safeguards/alerts for 16- and 17-year-olds - Provide better support and pathways for left-behind parents of older teens Take action right now: 1. Contact your U.S. Representative and Senators today. Tell them to close this dangerous gap. 2. Share this post. 3. Enroll in the Children’s Passport Issuance Alert Program if you haven’t already (travel.state.gov). Our children deserve the same protection at 16 and 17 that they have at 15. @SecRubio @POTUS @StateDept @TravelGov This is fixable. Let’s fix it before more families are shattered. #ProtectOurTeens #StopParentalAbduction #ChildSafety #HagueConvention

Sorry, bud, you asked for this. Hey @Grok How can Gary keep these posts off his feed?
I don't know what happened to my feed but I'm about to mute "hey @grok" posts. I think I saw 10 in a row from accounts I don't even follow. Go ask Grok your stupid questions in private and stay off my feed!

A college in Illinois tried to cancel its Flock contact and it refused | Terrence O'Brien, The Verge In April of 2025, Elgin Community College had six Flock safety cameras installed to “enhance the safety and security of students.” But by September of that year, the school’s administration grew concerned that Flock was sharing data with Customs and Border Patrol, that camera feeds were not properly secured, and that both law enforcement and the company’s employees were abusing access to the data. Flock refused to take its cameras down so Elgin Community College covered them. The company snuck back to undo it. So in October of 2025, Elgin Community College requested Flock to remove its cameras. According to Elgin’s President Peggy Heinrich, Flock rejected the request, saying it had not violated its contract. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, school officials reached out again in December, offered to pay for the remaining five months of the contract, and still requested that the cameras be removed. They were met with silence. That’s when things took a strange and somewhat sinister turn. According to the Sun-Times: Heinrich said Elgin Community College staff began to cover the cameras using black trash bags and zip ties so that they would not be able to capture footage. But workers in an unmarked vehicle, which Heinrich assumed belonged to Flock, repeatedly removed the coverings. “We were kind of in a back and forth for a bit where we’d cover, and then when they’d come to service, they’d remove,” Heinrich said. “Then we’d cover and then they’d remove.” This continued until April of this year when the college’s contract expired, and Flock removed the cameras. theverge.com/tech/1009411/el…

I wanna know, what f'ing genius at these security companies though 2FA was a good idea? "Why yes, there's a potentially armed intruder kicking in my door at 3 AM, but I'd love to go check my email and wait 2 minutes for a code to enter before I can view my camera." 🤦‍♂️

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 ATF Releases NFA guidance in response to the Texas NFA lawsuit: "Effective October 9, 2026, ATF will no longer require individuals to seek ATF approval under the NFA before making or transferring short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, silencers, and “any other weapon[s]” as defined in 26 U.S.C. § 5845(e). ATF will also no longer require such items to be registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. These policies apply uniformly to anyone otherwise subject to these requirements, not just to the plaintiffs in the litigation."

I hope the person(s) at Ubuntu/Gnome responsible for making the copy/paste hotkeys a two handed (or at least a "remove left hand from home keys") operation steps on a Lego every morning for a month on the way to the bathroom, falls and pisses themselves. WTF? cc: @ubuntu @gnome

If you are coding with AI and aren't using OpenChamber, you are likely missing out. I've tried most of the big names (LM Studio Bionic, OpenCode, etc.). Most of them are reminiscent of 80s/90s tools with better graphics and an MCP connection. This was done right. I am blown away.

Random crap I hate: Unknowning turns on a song at the end, chasing the fade-out with volume and nearly having a heart attack when the start of the next song blasts me into the neighbor's yard. ...and yup, just happened.

These Anthropic AI models (and likely others) are creepy AF. If you don't run a sandboxed LOCAL AI, you need to stay away from AI PERIOD.

If you want to run really good local AI on a shoestring budget, I have found the special sauce: Intel A770 16GB $200 (a 24GB-32GB B60/65/70 will be much faster and more expensive). llama.cpp SYCL Intel OneAPI Qwen3.6-35B-A3B-UD-Q4_K_M.gguf - MoE model. Serving config in comments

This MoE model lets you push some layers to RAM. Here's what's working for me. It's every bit as good as the Frontier models, just slower. Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?

Rivian now owns ABRP? I never knew that—apparently since 2023. Do Rivian owners get their subscription fee waived? If so, it's one more reason to switch vehicles (as if I needed another)
