This Manufacturing Day, we’re celebrating the journey from recycled materials to tomorrow’s products. Skilled teams turn used products into materials manufacturers can put to work. We’re proud to recognize the people who keep that process moving. #MFGDay26 @MfgDay

A recycled product’s journey involves more people than you might expect. Across the U.S., nearly 175,000 people work directly in recycled materials operations. On #MFGDay26, we’re recognizing the people whose work helps get materials ready for their next use in manufacturing.

As Congress considers the Ratepayer Protection Act, ReMA supports protecting manufacturers and other large energy users from unfair costs tied to new data center development. #Recyclers and the #manufacturers they serve shouldn’t subsidize the growth of data centers.

#Recycling is more than what happens to a material at the end of its life. It is what makes the next generation of American products, infrastructure, and innovation possible. ReMA and Jason Learning are thrilled to launch the 2026-27 Youth Recycling Contest! This year’s theme: America is Made with Recycled Materials! We're challenging students to look at their own communities and discover how recycled materials are already helping build America. Their creativity and curiosity can help tell an important story about the essential role recycling plays in our economy and our future. Pleased that U.S. House of Representatives passed the BRACE Act to establish universal waste standards for lithium batteries within 18 months. ReMA & industry partners support an amendment to exclude lithium batteries from the definition of solid waste, clearing barriers that make battery recycling harder.
✅ PASSED: The House just passed my bipartisan BRACE Act! My bill updates outdated federal rules to make lithium-ion batteries easier to recycle, keeping them out of landfills while recovering critical minerals like lithium, cobalt, and nickel here in America. Recycle more. Recover more. Depend less on China. 🇺🇸

Industry advocacy in action! Aaron Gaby of ReMA member Gaby Iron and Metal recently joined lobbyist Chris Nybo for three events connecting with Illinois State Representatives, Senators, key staffers, and leaders. The meetings gave Aaron the opportunity to tell his story, putting the recycled materials industry front and center with state lawmakers and policy leaders. Building these state-level relationships ensures that as policies evolve, the recycled materials industry remains a key part of the conversation. #ReMAAdvocacy #RecycledMaterials

We're encouraged to see the Truth in Labeling Act include industry-developed guidance. We look forward to working with @SenJeffMerkley and @RepLouCorrea to ensure any national framework remains grounded in how the recycling system operates and can adapt as that system advances. ow.ly/pEWn50Zy6oK

As highlighted in the @FinancialTimes, when #copper is stolen from power lines, telecommunications networks, rail systems or construction sites, the impacts extend far beyond the value of the metal itself. Communities face service disruptions, safety risks, costly repairs and infrastructure delays. Recycling companies continue to work to prevent #metalstheft and support recovery through industry-law enforcement collaboration and practical tools. One of the most effective is ScrapTheftAlert.com, a free nationwide system that allows law enforcement to quickly notify recyclers about stolen metals and equipment. Protecting critical infrastructure requires coordination across the entire supply chain. ReMA remains committed to advancing policies, partnerships, and tools that help keep stolen material out of legitimate commerce and support safer communities. ft.com/content/5ee7595d-a85d…

Recycled materials are the backbone of American manufacturing.  This week, ReMA is at the 2026 @NCSLorg Legislative Summit demonstrating how America’s legacy is made with #RecycledMaterials. From Paul Revere and the building of our nation to the cars we drive, the highways we drive them on, and the essential infrastructure that keeps us all connected, recycled materials are the fabric of America’s foundation, powering the present, and what comes next. #NCSLSummit #America250
