A visually impaired woman living in Minnesota has filed a lawsuit against Somali Uber and Lift drivers claiming that she is being discriminated against for her service animal. Somali Uber/Lyft drivers refuse to accept her animal when they see it. Non Somalian drivers accept animals and respect her.

Did you see the district asking for grant money to retain black teachers? Not good teachers not even licensed teachers (thank you Gov Walz for your push to hire unlicensed teachers in public schools.) Alpha has a story about it. I haven’t dug to see if it’s a free form grant application (like Faribault did for a Somali only soccer league) or if it’s a listed grant all districts can apply for. What I do know is every grant accepted from the state of Minnesota requires a full time admin to implement but doesn’t allow the admin to be fired when the money runs out meaning taxes go up to pay the admin and program costs after the one time grant runs out. Every district commits fraud through grants, some like I mentioned, some by having a grant department in their admin department so the same people writing for grants are tasked with oversight of all grants, some by not applying for any grants. Sadly the only ones punished are the last group because that is considered fraud against the students (?). In case you were wondering the Somali only soccer league money was stolen by a fraudulent ngo and the grant compliance officer for that grant has a permanent position so they are raising property taxes to try again. I’m tempted to offer to run the league. We don’t fund any other sports or even let school teams use facilities for free so a “free” Somali only league is incredibly disrespectful just on its face, but with that 4million a year we could have a hockey team again or fund an all grades k12 bowling league. If everything is fraud maybe fraud that benefits everyone rather than discriminating against most isn’t the worst

We received a couple messages about issues near the U of M Wednesday night near Chick-fil-A. The 911 dashboard reflects large police responses in that area around 9:30 p.m. and another disturbance in Dinkytown UMN about 11:45 p.m.
