🚨For years, Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day offered the public a picture of devoted, faithful marriage. Heather hosts a podcast called "I'm That Wife," wrote "Confessions of a Christian Wife," and said her calling was to support young people in the church. Seth, a former youth pastor, became a psychology professor who studied grief and trauma. Together they wrote the bestselling relationship book "I'll See You Tomorrow," about staying committed when you want to quit.
Police in Keene, Texas now say a teacher reported visible injuries on the couple's 14-year-old daughter, who told investigators that Seth hit her out of anger and later alleged he s*xually assaulted her. He is charged with first-degree s*xual assault of a child and injury to a child.
Heather is charged with injury to a child by omission, and the affidavit alleges she knew, urged her daughter to hide injuries with a mask, and told medical staff she did not know what happened.
Neither Heather Thompson Day nor Seth Day has been convicted, and both were released on bond.
Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day are both Seventh-day Adventists, and their church has firm views about other people's private lives. Official statements say sex belongs only in marriage between a man and a woman, oppose same-sex relationships, and call abortion out of harmony with God's plan.
It is fair to ask why so much moral energy goes toward policing consenting adults and pregnant women while the Church continues to be plagued with child s*xual abuse scandals by their leaders and followers.
