The Board will oversee progress on the National Cancer Plan and help identify where further action is needed to give every patient the best possible care.

It was great to see the Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer note the upcoming Travel Fund for children and young people with cancer in England in Prime Minister's Questions yesterday, following a question from @CliveJonesMP.
We look forward to the Travel Fund opening for children and young people with cancer in England by 2027.

We look forward to publication of the National Cancer Plan on Wednesday, and are pleased that after years of campaigning it will include a dedicated section for children and young people - a historic first for a National Cancer Plan for England.
We've been pleased to work with the Children and Young People's Cancer Taskforce to amplify the voices of children, young people and families throughout development of the plan.
📢 Wednesday is World Cancer Day and that's when we'll publish the National Cancer Plan.

The North Star Cancer Collective is hosting a series of joint, open workshops to build and deepen our shared understanding of the system around children and young people with cancer, and their families.
Those attending the workshop via Microsoft Teams at 11.30am -12.30pm on Thursday 22 January will be able to input into and shape the focus of the work of the North Star Cancer Collective, in particular its ambition to 'strengthen the mental health of children and young people with cancer, and their families – within and beyond treatment'.
These sessions are open to all. We are particularly interested in exploring perspectives with:
- Young people (aged 16 years+) and family members with direct experience of children and young people’s cancer
- Community leaders, especially those representing communities who experience discrimination and oppression
- Thought leaders in research, systems thinking, social justice and innovation
- Practitioners (across organisations and focuses)
- Clinicians

We’re delighted that our film Sam’s Story has been nominated for a Smiley Charity Film Award – and now we need your help to get it to the next stage.
Sam’s Story follows a child and their family as they deal with a cancer diagnosis and all the emotional and practical concerns that come with it, from long journeys to hospital and money worries during treatment to long-term effects like fatigue and anxiety.
