There are several examples I've written about before of bike lanes that actually make sense.
The Hudson River Greenway is one, as it doesn't interfere with traffic on the West Side Highway and is a well-established example of what bike lanes SHOULD be.
Scenic, spacious, and mostly IN A PARK.
The 2-way bike lanes along the westbound span of the Brooklyn Bridge are another example that makes sense because they keep bike assholes from plowing into pedestrians on the bridge.
The bike lanes going over the Manhattan Bridge?
Same thing.
MY issue, sir, are with the INTRUSIVE bike lanes, planter pots, and every "road dieting" device that clutters roads, shrinks lanes and makes life needlessly miserable for drivers, both passenger cars AND truck drivers alike.
Viable alternatives?
Ripping up every single bike lane, from EVERY single street, EVERY single avenue, in EVERY SINGLE BOROUGH that are intentionally designed to fuck with people.
Although I think this bike lane is WAY too big, ripping out every single bike lane? Absurdly stupid. If you’ve seen Kent Av, the Hudson River Greenway near 12 Av, Queens Blvd near the 7 train, & countless other bike lanes used by countless people. You have a viable alternative?
