The media laughed, but today the Department of Justice isn't laughing. ​U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro just opened a criminal investigation into Powell for allegedly lying to Congress about the scope of this $2.5 billion disaster. ​Powell tried to claim there were "no special elevators" and "no new marble." Now, subpoenas are flying because documents show he might have been hiding the truth to protect his seat. ​Trump smelled the fraud months ago. Powell says it's "political pressure," but the facts don't lie. You don't get to spend billions of the people's resources and then lie about it under oath. ​The hammer is finally dropping on the Fed.
