Some general thoughts on non fungible token (NFT) design in the big 26:
1. if the collection matters, it should be on ETH mainnet
2. interesting mechanics > ongoing utility
3. emissions / yield make them price recursive, its a double edged sword that only works in short term
4. a lot of cool things still haven't been done with NFTs, there's plenty of room to innovate
5. if you design for collectors, you can still appeal to speculators. but if you design for speculators, its hard to appeal to collectors
6. they work best as the sole onchain asset in an ecosystem, harder for them to make sense when there's a token (unless closely interlinked, but even then - one gets arbed)
7. basically zero "web2 fans" convert to NFT buyers at the price points that web3 natives like to play at, best abandon that hopium
8. for new & upcoming PFP collections, the prominence / visibility of ppl wearing them on the timeline still matters
9. "running an NFT collection" is not a real business, making money from a mint just gives teams some runway to build one
10. "why should i collect this" - the simpler the answer the better
