Secret Big Archaeology Bunker
Y’all know how I regularly point out that Bran, my little barkaeologist, has more excavation experience than Jimmy? He’s also far, far superior in artifact identification. Bran can tell the difference between assorted rubble and remains of walls and other construction, along with bone, wood, and other materials. Tl:dr: my chihuahua is a better archaeologist than Jimmy.

Classic Amodei. Joyce Mack was well known here for decades, but maybe Flippo and his genius team never heard of Thomas and Mack. Broke campaign laws, then to fix, attributed donation to dead woman. "Clerical error." Just as stolen valor was. Lots of bad clerks over there...
Of Flippo, @AmodeiForNevada says being a proud Republican "doesn’t mean that I’m going to step in front of basically a fraud freight train and go, ‘Well, it’s a Republican freight train, so it isn’t going to hurt when it splatters me all over the tracks.'" wsj.com/politics/elections/a…

My coworker's mother passed away last November. She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work. He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate. Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office. Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title. He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance. The caseworker sighed and told him: "Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full." He offered to pay a monthly settlement. They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction. A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien. You don't own generational wealth. You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.
Community note
Because the house is worth $190,000 and the average house sale price is over$440,000, the house likely qualifies for the "modest value" exemption. (Check county values) YOU MUST APPLY FOR THIS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF GETTING THE NOTICE!!! kff.org/medicaid/what-

Photos of turning grooves on the pedestal of one of Queen Hatshepsut's obelisks at Karnak shows the turning groove on the right edge of the base. There is even a piece of flat granite that was placed to hide the groove. The rest of this cover stone is missing after 3400+ years The other photos show the back of the Ramesses II statue with Ptah and Sekhmet in my original post. It has columns of repetitive text with his royal names and titles. You can see the grove in the lower part of the image. Ramesses must have taken the pedestal of an earlier obelisk and repurposed it to make this statue group. It's impossible to say whose obelisk it belonged to. Likely an 18th Dynasty king. The likely suspects are Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, who are known for making multiple obelisks. Presumably the obelisk was no longer standing so the pedestal was up for grabs and Ramesses repurposed it. #obelisks #obelisk #Egypt #archaeology #history #ancient #archeohistories #GrandEgyptianMuseum #Karnak

Ramesses II dedicated this colossal group statue of Ptah, Sekhmet and his deified self to celebrate his Heb Sed festivals, the Egyptian royal "jubilee" which was traditionally celebrated in Memphis, home of Ptah and Sekhmet. The pedestal is engraved with the basket shaped hieroglyph for "festival". Sekhmet's eyes are deeply carved and may have held inlays of metal, alabaster and semi precious gem stones, giving her a more lifelike appearance. The only squat proportions were not because the artists lacked talent. Ramesses had the statue made from a huge block of recycled stone that was originally the square pedestal of an obelisk made by an earlier king. #Ramesses #Ramses #Ptah #Sekhmet #Memphis #mythology #Egypt #goddess
