It’s wrong on all counts. I would no more depend on the BBC’s coverage of France than I would Putin on Russia.
The BBC has given up claiming that the riots in France are about education and now says they are about “the cost of living and other issues”.

I can say with absolute certainty that I don’t trust the BBC to provide the truth anymore. I used to extol the virtues of BBC News years ago but not anymore. I don’t know how it’s got to this point but It’s obvious to anyone with a functioning brain their output is skewed.

The BBC are now very left wing and support the justifications of rioters, terrorists and just about everything else. Time to defund the BBC and shut down the none-news service.

Andrew Neil is correct. But what a shocking statement all the same. Just dire and unreliable coverage from the BBC. @BBC

After seeing lots of French TV and newspaper coverage yesterday, I then read about a different set of events on the BBC. Warped, generalist and very gentle on the hard-left rioting thugs.

The BBC has failed to report the French riots properly. The truth doesn't fit the BBC's narrative.

How do the BBC explain the fact that businesses have been looted and destroyed, yet Muslim businesses next door remain perfect, zero attempt to loot or damage. Opportunistic it might be, but a lot of it sounds pre-planned to many.

The BBC is the propaganda arm of the UK establishment, and anything you see there will reflect that association. Is the UK establishment as bad as the Russian one, no, but it's still not working in the interests of the UK population; it's pushing the interests of the Elite class and their current politics.

They cant tell the truth as it would shatter the "multi culturalism is our strength" narrative that the BBC have pushed for nearly 30 years

Who watches the BBC expecting honesty these days? I feel sad writing that. I spent a lot of time living abroad & it was a lifeline, an anchor. I got news about where I was that I couldn't get locally. It mattered! But 20 years on & it's so evasive, cautious, often *dishonest*.

I also read the phrase “largely peaceful” in one BBC story about the French riots. I recall they used the same phrase when a “largely peaceful” BLM protest got out of hand.

Just read Le monde diplomatique. They say it’s a cost of living thing and a lack of opportunity thing. They should know.

I also notice that there is no connection with returning to the social harmony of the EU, since it does not exist or economic stability either. The BBC lacks, any critical faculties.

This week on BBC news John Simpson visits France, where the streets glow, the locals are revolting over the price of a croissant, and that burning Peugeot is just a traditional village barbecue.

Given atrocious quality of UK coverage of European news it's very hard to understand exactly what is going on. What is? What's driving the protests/violence? Thanks

Was that ever not the case? I (most probably naively on my part) used to trust the @BBCNews to at least report facts even if the facts were inevitably curated / fitted a narrative. Outright lies about men being women completely destroyed any trust I had.

Andrew why can't MSM call this out for what everyone can see. This isn't about rising costs and schools. It's a chance for lowlife to cause anarchy. If that isn't true what I say why are ppls house now being robbed, as reported from numerous independent journos

The @bbc refutes claims of bias or slanted journalism, as I suppose it must. The question is, do they believe this themselves. Are they really that low in self-awareness? I have a daunting feeling that the answer is yes.

I agree The issue is that @BBCNews is funded from a form of compulsory taxation and it is by far the best funded and most influential media organisation in the UK, that has the power to bring down governments and political parties
