Cool work! Congratulations @danielrock. Seems like the findings of this paper, specially, the ones on productivity boost, will also be important in revisiting promotion and tenure expectations and guidelines for young academics.

Grateful to have had the opportunity to work on 2 of these 3 antitrust cases as a testifying expert for Meta and Google. Learnt a lot these last few years. And thankful to an incredible team at Compass Lexecon for their support work.
Fed gov now 0-3 in recent efforts to break up Big Tech:
1. Meta-Insta/WhatsApp (lost case)
2. Google-Chrome (won case, no breakup remedy imposed)
3. Google-Ads Manager (won case, no breakup remedy imposed)
Big picture: The threat of legal liability from civil suits is proving to be Big Tech's biggest headache, not federal antitrust suits

Yet another huge win for Google! In a landmark ruling today, Judge Brinkema ruled against the DOJ structural remedies proposal and decided that Google will not be required to break up its ad tech business. I am very pleased to see this outcome as we had worked for almost 5 years on this antitrust case on behalf of Google supported by my excellent team at Compass Lexecon.
A big win for the economic experts paid by Google who argued that total dominance in the ad technology business was nothing to worry about
