This week on “Catch the Pace,” Dr. Pace highlights an important part of school safety: supporting the mental health and overall wellbeing of our students. Each HCS school has a CARE (Caring Adults Responding Every day) Team made up of counselors, social workers, administrators, and other caring staff who help connect students and families with the support they need.
Dr. Pace also highlights the role of Mental Health and Wellness Facilitators, who lead CARE teams and help ensure students have a caring adult they can turn to when challenges arise. Through the “You Belong” campaign, Mental Health and Wellness Facilitators are working to create school environments where every student feels welcomed, supported, valued, and ready to learn and grow.
