Mais Masalkha arrived in Salamieh, Syria, unable to read or write. At Masarat Center, she learned to read, gained new skills and is now preparing for her Grade 9 exams. She hopes to continue her education through English and computer courses. When Dr Ghazwa Mahfoud saw children struggling with reading and writing, she decided to become part of the solution. She founded Masarat Center to give every child a strong foundation through education and psychological and behavioural support. Through Accelerate Prosperity's LaunchUp project, Dr Ghazwa received a grant, a loan and training after a year developing the centre, helping her continue to grow Masarat Center's work. @ApProsperity Syria supports entrepreneurs and small businesses by improving access to knowledge, markets and finance โ€“ helping enterprises grow while contributing to job creation and stronger communities. This work is part of AKDN's broader commitment to Syria, including programmes worth more than EUR 100 million in 2026 and 2027. Watch Mais and Dr Ghazwa share their story. #AccelerateProsperity #Syria #Education #InclusiveDevelopment
