The 2020
#UN reports on
#Akelius #Residential and
#human #rights #abuses describe my own experiences and
#London #property:
spcommreports.ohchr.org/TMRe…
Yet 2026 I am still paying the price for the
#harassment I experienced when Akelius Residential turned my property into a
#construction site, and they lied and said there were “no concrete cases and no facts" in their public response to the UN reports:
business-humanrights.org/en/…
Akelius Residential was degrading my
#living conditions and ignoring complaints to push me out of my flat so they could free it up to
#renovate and charge higher
#rent. As shown in the email, they ripped out the
#ceiling and
#insulation in the flat below me during the winter which made my
#floor ice cold despite having both a
#radiator and space
#heater which still was not enough to keep my flat warm. I was literally freezing in bed every night and using an electric blanket too. The photo is of the flat below me with the ripped-out ceiling which they used for storage during the construction, and of course, it was the last flat they renovated, leaving my floor freezing throughout the winter.
In 2026 I am still dealing with problems caused by the construction work described in the 2020 UN reports on human rights abuses by Akelius Residential.
I am not convinced that Akelius put insulation in the ceiling below my flat because several years ago I had to buy reflective foil to install behind my radiator to get more heat out from it, as the floor is still cold in the winters since the refurbishments.
On top of that, I am also not convinced they installed insulation below the floor in the flat above me, as I constantly hear noise through the ceiling from the
#tenant above as you can hear in the video.
Before Akelius Residential renovated the
#building, there was no noise travelling from connecting flats, as the building was well insulated, and my floor was not cold during the winters like it is since now the construction.
It was clear that I was being pushed out of my flat to make me
#homeless, so Akelius could refurbish my flat and get in higher paying tenants, so I am not surprised if there is no insulation below my floor and above my ceiling, as another ongoing way to
#degrade my
#living conditions and
#harass me out of my flat even after the construction work finished.
In the UK, landlords have a
#legal responsibility to ensure
#peaceful enjoyment of the property and to ensure the flat has soundproofing, but it is continuing to break the law with all ongoing heating and noise issues I endure since the renovations.
