Vukovar surrendered exactly 30 years ago today. Still the killings and war crimes continued. My photo of Croatian National Guard defending the road out of town (Sept. 1991). International and media interest in what was happening to Vukovar at the time was pitiful.

Vandaag 30 jr geleden viel de Oost-Kroatische stad Vukovar na een ruim 80 dagen durende aanval door het Joegoslavische leger (JNA) en Servische milities. Dit mooie stadje a/d Donau werd in 1991 totaal vernield door de aanvallers. Deze beelden wennen nooit.
