Ashley Jackson, daughter of civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson, is embracing a new chapter of her identity after converting to Judaism.
In a new interview with The Jewish Chronicle, Jackson reflects on finding a spiritual home in Judaism, being welcomed into Jewish communities around the world, and navigating life at the intersection of Black and Jewish identity.
She also speaks about the role Black Jews and others with intersecting identities can play as “bridge builders,” creating dialogue and understanding between communities.
“It seems I’ve gained a whole new global family.”
