My sister was told by more than one digital nomad in Cape Town that they pay a Nigerian to bribe home affairs officials to extend their visas. My politics are that both the Nigerian and the digital nomad clients need be deported and banned from the country.

The two main reasons South Africans are so easy to propagandise is because we are so reactionary and we want to outsource our thinking. We are always looking for something to be mad about so even when something is obviously false, we want to react, and we don’t want to fact check ourselves! We want others to tell us what the truth is, we don’t want to spend the time doing the research and knowing the truth for ourselves.
