San Jose in the top 10 immediately invalidates this list

The fact Seattle is #4 makes this list extremely questionable

A) NYC at 1 still feels right but the next four are wild if you’re putting Tokyo at 9. B) Who gives a F about San Jose?

Dublin being #6 is a joke. When I’ve moved to San Francisco from there, my life has improved 100x on every angle. Dublin is quite frankly one of the worst large cities in Europe. No start to Warsaw or Madrid.

I’ve walked through the calles of Buenos Aires and Barcelona with their outdoor cafes on every corner and hidden architectural gems. I’ve walked past the aromatic smells of street foods on the streets of Bangkok and Saigon. I’ve climbed up and down the hilly streets of picturesque Lisbon and Vancouver. But nothing comes close to the strip malls and rows of identical townhouses of San Jose, California. Now that is a real city.

Every other municipality now has to figure out what it did wrong to place second to a place where people leave their rubbish in black bags directly on the pavement. The rest of civilization has quite a lot of soul-searching to do.

The probability that five of the eight best cities in the world are from one country is astronomically low.
