I see, so if I stick my cat's head in a cone and chop it off with garden sheers that would be okay so long as I didn't feed it a nutritionally complete plant based meal beforehand?
For example. A chicken cone is very humane. It’s over before the animal even knows what just happened. They feel nothing if done correctly.
Or a chick cull. When done properly the baby feels nothing and it’s over to fast.
This doesn’t mean clean.

maybe it’s b/c if they acknowledge that cats can thrive consuming complete nutrition so too can they and they’re not ready for that.
Otherwise the double standard is nonsensical, especially when one side inflicts far more violence and abuse than a vegan cat owner ever could.

Why do that though? Just let the animals live, they are animals. Cats will kill bugs and mice for you, and they will kill birds on instinct. They quite enjoy it, why not let them? They aren't killing people, just other animals, and mostly weaker animals.

‘Obligate carnivore’ is an ecological term, not a nutritional term.
In nature, a cat must hunt, because their digestive system requires the *nutrients* found in meat.
Those nutrients can be synthesized.
There IS consensus on vegan diets for cats. It’s animal abuse. Cats are obligated to carnivores.
PETA tried having a “vegan lion”. The animal starves because their bodies do not get the proper nutrients from plant based foods.

"Can cats be vegan" discourse is insane because every vegan who brings it up acts like they're the first person to think of the concept. This has been studied before your parents were born. We have literal DECADES of evidence that cats can't be vegan. This isn't up for debate.

it’s definitely always been a heated debate, but meat can be humanely procured and consumed when we do our part to respect the food chain! it’s just getting harder to do (esp. in cities) the more the meat industry profits to make stupid shit - like triple decker burgers and junk.
