CS2 DEV TEAM (
@CounterStrike) did an interview about the current state of CS2, here's the key points:
- Every CS2 map, model, animation and sound were reauthored in the new engine;
- About half of they player's playtime is now in Premier mode;
- The bug clips shared by the community helpes them isolate the specific bugs and fix them quickly;
- Sub-tick: They claim sub-tick works as intended but as more people got to test the system and gave feedback, they know there's still issues and are working on fiixing them;
- Premier matchmaking is now the most popular mode in Counter-Strike, which they didn't predict (uh?);
- They don't consider CS2 Skins as "NFTs", for them bringing the items forward (from CSGO to CS2) is a way to bridge between the two games and let players keep their items;
- They consider the launch an "overwhelming success" because "launching the game has massively accelerated the pace of improving CS2";
- Weapon sprays changed slightly from CSGO (64 tick servers) to CS2 as the way sprays work in CS2 is more similar to CSGO 128 tick servers;
- They plan to release new weapons in CS2, but it's not the main focus right now;
- They plan to bring back game modes like Arms race or community maps;
- They expect CS2 to be VERY different 10 years from now.
Overall it was a decent interview imo. I think it missed some key points tho, no quesitons about the anti-cheat not realy working, the lack of new content and most importantly, the return of cl_bob. If you enjoyed this thread, follow for daily CS2 content 👌
