Anyways I created the Squiggle in 2018 as a proof of concept of the variability that can be achieved via blockchain generated/derived entropy. But after spending years fiddling with it, it started to stand out as a recognizable unique and easily identifiable mark. Never could have imagined it would have become what it is today but grateful for all of the folks that have supported the Squiggle and my work over the years.
Now Meta, one of the world’s largest companies, is using something incredibly similar, and it validates that moment around 2020 when I decided to lean into the Squiggle and its near infinite variations as an artistic release, becoming my signature as an artist and technologist. Since then many have used Squiggles as their logos, email signatures, embroidered on clothing, profile pics, products, stickers, and even tattooed them on their body (!!) not to mention collected by thousands of people and at last count 12 museums around the world. Grateful they’re still part of the conversation after so many years. And here’s to many more.
And yeah Catmull-Rom FTW 🙌.
