Those who say this isn't enabling a murderous regime, that “it's journalism” — OK. Thousands of Iranians were killed. But the sooner the Iranian people can have their freedom — and their choices reflected in their government — the better for Iran and, I believe, the world. This regime has repeatedly demonstrated that preserving itself takes precedence over protecting its own citizenry. And January appears to have cut even deeper than previous crackdowns. The violence affected families across Iranian society — including people connected to the very institutions and constituencies upon which the Islamic Republic has historically relied. Whatever support the regime still retains, the question worth asking is whether January caused some of that support to rot from within. So ask him. You pressed Araghchi. Now press the President. Apparently, there are a ton of Montrealers who ventured off to study and work abroad. Some of them ended up in finance. A lot of them want to help bring the @Montreal_Expos back—and they're realizing they now have a field commander on the ground, plugging away, leading an army of Peanut aficianados with their sights set on restoring one of their favorite sports teams. Don’t get me wrong: many of these guys may have a personal interest. And sure, professionally, they need to show their overlords they’re keeping busy and looking for opportunities. But getting emails from Montrealers saying things like: “Worlds are colliding. The guy who started the channel I spent an ungodly amount of time watching is now trying to bring back the team I cried myself to sleep over when they left.” That was not, apparently, on their bingo cards. Yet here we are. Life is wild. LFG. 🥜⚾

A big part of the TEAMS thesis is Academia. The Academy & Study of Entrepreneurship (ASE) was initially an idea I had for a free entrepreneurship school for entrepreneurs with a slight emphasis on media and storytelling. But with the Peanut Project and our effort to bring back @MLB and restore the @Montreal_Expos - ASE will have a heavy sports business angle. Athletes today don’t view broadcasting and coaching as their main career paths. They view themselves now as entrepreneurs and investors. Expect much more of this.

A couple of years ago my @WatchMojo board members asked me "why don't you guy websites, and reduce your exposure to @youtube?" So turn our back on what built the business and where the audiences are flocking to? For... "greed" (to not share revenues with platforms)? Traffic to website is on a long term trend to 0. All falling knives. AI snippets will accelerate this. Not just news sites btw, all websites. No one cares about your grandma's life when they're looking for apple pie recipes, they just want to know the basics... not what memories the scent of cinnamon evokes to you. Sorry not sorry, it's happening.

This is not really great for retail investors. What made a ton of money for the "average investor" was capturing a lot of the capital gains when companies IPO earlier. By virtue of private equity propping up pre-IPO companies longer, they capture the value, before unloading the stock to consumers... who sometimes end up having to hold the shares a very long time after the eventual post-IPO pressure selling...

Do we know anyone who works at "ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l'Électrification des transports?" One of the land locations I inquired about a possible @Montreal_Expos stadium belongs to them, and not the @MTL_Ville Yes, I am exploring other avenues than X, but let's face it, inasmuch as X is the asylum of the world, it's also got some smart folks...

My May prediction doesn’t seem so nuts now, does it? IF we go by @espn's criteria, and given that Raleigh now has anchors publicly backing its bid, this is how I see the East today. But don’t kid yourself: @Montreal_Expos are only starting second on a technicality. Our Chassis - the city's DMA, size, corporate base, history & legacy - is nothing any other car can match. The Engine - TEAMS model, 4C, etc. Once those lights go from red to green, who do YOU think emerges from the first corner in pole position? Love being the underdog, counted out, only to come back and prevail. There's a fine line between the energy of the fans, and the noise of the critics... and winning is knowing how to harvest each source of energy: As @CanadiensMTL legend @PKSubban1 worded so eloquently: "I can’t wait for the crowd, the noise, the energy in the building. I can’t wait to take that all away from them.” It’s Sunday. Race day. Who do you want behind as Driver behind the wheel? LFG! Bring it.
