It's kind of crazy the only thing I need a Mac book pro for now is to run an iOS simulator. I do all my toy projects from cursor cloud agents or grok @bot on my phone. 🫪 @SpaceXSI should team up with @omarchy to get iOS sims working on Linux

I miss vim. Navigating through a code base at the speed of thought. Keystroking. Mnemonic combos organizing my mental map through the multiplexer. Now i just yap. Yap with a southern draw. And it's alright alright alright. I will always miss you, vim.

Software is being commoditized and democratized
I vibe-coded beehiiv, and it's 83% cheaper. ✨✨ Introducing MailCheap.ai ✨✨ Everything you need to run a newsletter... ✍️ Editor 📅 Scheduling 📈 Stats 🌐 A website for every issue 🛡️ Deliverability guardrails 🔗 Send from your own domain (and keep your reputation) And it's not a dinosaur tool: + It's open source; you can run it for free + It's agentic; everything in the UI is available to your AI Import from beehiiv, Substack, or Mailchimp in 2 minutes. You pay for the emails you send, not for dormant subscribers. From $19/month. Oh, and no "Powered By" badge at the bottom of your emails.

Before my daughter I was constantly writing code on side projects. Nothing ever took off but it was fun to tinker. Then, I thought I'd never have time for side projects again. Until agentic coding really became a thing. Now I'm constantly building just like before ❤️

Nothing has "taken off" but I have the android launch I always dreamed of and a mindfulness app that helps me pause and reflect morning and evening. I vibe coded a threejs game running as a Shopify shop. tougeoutlaw.com Today I sent @bot some ideas for @Shopify

Translated into LinkedIn speak 🧵
i just automated our release and QA process! using Grok Bot i made two Team Bots: sandcastle, my release manager, and poteto, my engineer bot. i added them to Slack and made a new channel for managing releases. first i tell sandcastle that i want to do a cut. it'll DM all the contributors with links to their PRs so they know what goes in the next release and can DM the bot back if they have any blockers or objections. sandcastle then kicks off the build, watches it automatically, and starts up an automated fuzz swarm. usually this is 10+ agents running on Grok 4.7 xhigh to run the build, click around and use it like a real user (using our verification skills and feature map), some are directed while a few are "chaos monkey" clicking things randomly to see what breaks. whenever it finds an issue, i tell it to @ mention my engineer bot poteto, to spin up a Cursor Project to own triaging and fixing all the high pri issues. depending on the severity i may ask it to cherry pick the fix into our release branch and cut a patch release, or if it's a pre-existing issue i still fix it but include in the next release instead that's one more tedious task that Grok Bot now handles for our team

From the dhh conversation, I think we'll end up all just using and contributing to the open source supabase stack. Crud go wrapper of go with elixir for web sockets. Maybe we'll port the golang bit to rust and then the agent just has to create a data base + client

The major take away from this for me is: Engineers have moved up the abstraction chain. Our job is no longer to write code for projects. We have to the tribal knowledge of our language into linters so that the agent cannot make mistakes. If you can't codify your idea into..
I've had agents implement and optimize the Campfire web app in Elixir, Go, and Rust. Yes, Ruby is the slowest. I didn't care about that when the pay-off was huge in terms of productivity and developer joy. But if you're no longer reading the code? github.com/basecamp/once-cam…
Community note
The shown benchmarks use non-equivalent implementations: Elixir routes all DB queries through a single GenServer with Redis for jobs (retained from Rails), while Rust uses in-process queues, omits CSRF tags/fields, and applies other caching changes. github.com/basecamp/once-… raw.githubusercontent.com/basecamp/once-… github.com/basecamp/once-… github.com/basecamp/once-… x.com/zachsdaniel1/s

...linter, then maybe it is subjective and you need to think about it more before casting it on others as truth.
