ALT Every year I set myself a teaching target. I start small – usually just one class, usually in a lower year group. To add accountability, I tell the group exactly what I’m doing and why and ask them to prompt me if I stop doing it. Beyond that, I don’t force it – if something works well, I naturally start doing it with my other classes. This is what happened – dramatically quickly, actually – with visualisers.

Hope as part of Labour’s
Curriculum review they look to Scotland and learn from the significant mistakes that have been made there and what not to do. Both falling standards and a widening attainment gap for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds is truly depressing.
These looks like disastrous exam results.
The pass rate for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher have fallen to astonishingly low levels.
The attainment gaps in all three have increased.
