The compounded GLP-1 crackdown continues. Twenty state AGs sent a letter last week to Sec. Rubio claiming Chinese-sourced APIs used in compounded semaglutide, tirzepatide, and retatrutide are a supply-chain vulnerability. The AGs say that the FDA Green List for allowed imports has become a laundering channel for unsafe API. Letter flags potential ties between some of these Chinese peptide suppliers and entities involved in fentanyl production. The AGs are asking Rubio and the National Security Council to tighten or suspend the Green List before more of this product reaches American compounding pharmacies.

Today (9/21) DOJ dropped a last-minute letter to the Court pointing the judge panel to Franco v. Chobani case from July: this same exact appeals court already said it will give real weight to FDA’s take on its own scientific definitions, Loper Bright decision notwithstanding. The FDA is arguing when the fight is over the meaning of an FDA scientific/regulatory definition the agency drafted, this circuit has shown it will listen closely to FDA’s explanation. Important for US Government to get on the docket before the case which most major media has no idea about.
