Recent reports from 4 sources confirm that both Elon and Trump supported the restrictions of Starshield, which confirms my earlier posts stating that SpaceX is involved and part of it. The Telegraph on Oct. 16 reported that it was Musk who proposed the speed cap to Trump — and Trump "agreed," one source said. Many claim that 🇪🇺 Europe cannot launch the necessary satellites into orbit without SpaceX, and that is factually incorrect. The mistake most people make is believing that the same number of SpaceX satellites is required to deploy a system like StarShield, and that is incorrect. Apart from other satellites and their systems that already exist, the EU expanded IRIS² in August 2026 to a main constellation of 348 satellites: - 330 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) - 18 satellites in medium Earth orbit (MEO) - First launches scheduled for 2029 To launch the necessary 330 satellites into space, only 10 launches would be required, based on a realistic assumption of realistic 33 satellites per flight. Europe can therefore launch a sufficient number of satellites into space without SpaceX. The main transport burden lies with Ariane 6—the heavy-lift rocket—but also with Vega-C—the light-lift rocket—which can place satellites into orbit. So, people who claim Europa must ask SpaceX to transport their sateliettes don't know basic facts. 10 Ariane flights is not nothing but its also not a big deal.
