For anyone confused about what happened in Brazil… Imagine if the Kamala Harris campaign, after losing the first round of voting by over two MILLION votes and watching her trail all month, spent Election Day not counting voters but counting buses, and when the courts refused to arrest a city official over a bus spreadsheet, they didn't take no for an answer, they went around the election court entirely, straight to a Supreme Court justice who just happened to be the Democratic president's former personal lawyer, the same president who put him on the bench, and that justice just happened to rule three minutes before polls closed, so late that many machines were already shut and sealed, and then, instead of fixing it, he quietly rewrote his own order so that only the stations still open could keep voting, and nobody, not the press, not the election officials, not anyone, can tell you how many stayed open, or where they were, or why that list hasn't been released, or whether it just happened to line up with the exact neighborhoods the Democrats had spent all day naming, while Republican voters in flooded, blacked-out towns who had begged for extra time were told the doors were locked and to go home, and then the vote count itself was frozen for two full hours in the dark, and when the lights came back on the Democrat had pulled off the first runoff comeback in the nation's history, and the same people who spent four years saying trust the institutions announced the institutions had worked perfectly, that asking which polls stayed open was an attack on democracy, that the list of open polls was classified for the good of democracy which is roughly where Brazil is tonight.

Rare 1928 footage of Bascom Lamar Lunsford and his band playing “Doggett Gap.” This is pure Appalachian music, filmed in Asheville the same year the Mountain Folk and Dance Festival began. Lunsford on fiddle and vocals, banjos and guitar locking in behind him — no polish, no stage lights, just the real thing. Watching this feels like opening a time capsule. The playing is loose but full of life, and you can almost feel the room they’re in. Some of the deepest roots of American music were already fully formed nearly a hundred years ago. Anyone else get chills from old footage like this?

In this performance, the musicians play traditional instruments associated with medieval Europe, including bagpipes, shawms, and large drums, at the historical festival La Médiévale de Brie-Comte-Robert. Have you ever heard medieval music like this before?

Trotsky – The Myth. Ask a Western leftist which communist he admires, and you often get the same answer: Trotsky. The intellectual. The orator. The true revolutionary, betrayed by Stalin. If only he had won… Look at the young Trotsky in the picture: round glasses, wild hair, burning eyes. Many young leftists today would recognize themselves in him. The look hasn’t changed. Neither has the certainty. So let’s look at what he did when he had power. Born in 1879 in what is now southern Ukraine, Trotsky was a brilliant writer and a spellbinding speaker. In October 1917, he played a central role in organizing the Bolshevik seizure of power. Then Lenin made him Commissar for War, and he built the Red Army, directing it from an armoured train that rushed from front to front. Deserters were shot. Military discipline was enforced through executions. Blocking detachments were deployed to stop retreating soldiers, and former tsarist officers recruited into the Red Army were kept under surveillance by political commissars. Their families were sometimes held hostage to guarantee their loyalty. Cruelty knows no limits when you have no doubts. In 1920, the Red Army marched on Warsaw. It was stopped on the Vistula. That same year, Trotsky published an entire book, Terrorism and Communism, explaining why revolutionary terror was necessary. He wanted labour militarized too: workers organized like soldiers, subjected to military discipline and compelled to serve the needs of the state. In 1921, the sailors of Kronstadt – once hailed as the pride of the revolution – demanded free elections to the soviets. Trotsky supported the suppression of the revolt. Thousands were killed in the assault or executed afterwards. Then he lost the power struggle to Stalin. Expelled, exiled, forced abroad. From there, he wrote that the revolution had been betrayed – by Stalin, never by himself. He ended up in Mexico City, where he stayed for a time with Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. And so the Western romance took shape: the exiled prophet, the revolutionary betrayed, the road not taken. In August 1940, a Soviet agent who had gained his confidence entered his study and struck him with an ice axe. The machine Trotsky had helped build had come for him too. His killer later received the Soviet Union’s highest honour. Trotsky was not the alternative to Stalin. He was the same machine – only with better prose. He never rejected the terror. He rejected losing control of it. The "good communist" is always the one who lost. Next: Stalin.
The Butchers – The Men Who Ran the Soviet Terror. Moscow, a winter night in 1937. Long past midnight in the Kremlin, a man with a pipe sits at his desk under a lamp. In front of him, a stack of typed lists – names, one per line. He runs a blue pencil down the pages. A tick. A note in the margin. Sometimes a name crossed out, sometimes one added. The same pencil he uses to edit film scripts and poems. His officials stay awake at home, next to the phone, in case he calls before dawn. Hundreds of lists. Tens of thousands of names. On a single day, December 12, 1937, he and Molotov approved more than three thousand death sentences. Then, historians tell us, they went to watch a film. But Stalin didn't invent the machine. He perfected it. In August 1918, Lenin sent a telegram to his comrades: hang at least a hundred kulaks – hang them so that people see it for hundreds of kilometers around. Trotsky, the "good communist" of Western nostalgia, ordered the families of officers taken as hostages. The founders gave the orders. Then the machine needed men – men who would build the apparatus, fill the camps, write the confessions and pull the triggers. And sooner or later, it devoured many of them. 1. Dzerzhinsky – the Founder. "Iron Felix," a Polish noble's son, who built the Cheka in 1917. 2. Trotsky – the Myth. The revolutionary Western intellectuals still romanticize, who wrote a whole book defending terror – until the machine he helped build killed him with an ice axe. 3. Stalin – the Editor. The man at the desk, with the blue pencil, long past midnight. 4. Yagoda – the Builder. The Gulag as an economy: canals dug by prisoners who died by the tens of thousands. Then shot by his own machine. 5. Vyshinsky – the Prosecutor. "Confession is the queen of evidence" – so he got confessions. "Shoot the mad dogs!" at the show trials, then the Soviet seat at the United Nations. 6. Yezhov – the Butcher. The Great Terror, the quotas, the Polish operation – then shot, and erased from the photographs. 7. Beria – the Strategist. Katyn, the atomic bomb, the deportations – and a predator. Shot by his own colleagues three months after Stalin's death. 8. Blokhin – the Executioner. In the spring of 1940, at Kalinin, he personally shot thousands of Polish prisoners over a few weeks, in a leather apron and cap. 9. Serov – the Hunter of Poland. He crushed the Home Army, lured the leaders of the Polish Underground State to "talks" and had them tried in Moscow. Then Hungary in 1956, and the first chairman of the KGB. 10. Andropov – the Modernizer. Dissidents sent to psychiatric hospitals instead of camps: softer, quieter – same goal: erasing people. The first secret police chief to rule the country. 11. Epilogue – The Chekists Never Left. From the KGB to the FSB to the Kremlin. Why name them? Because their whole work was erasure – of people, of records, of memory. Remembering is the opposite of what they did. And erasure didn't die with them. Today it rarely needs a bullet. It is called cancelling, deplatforming, debanking, lawfare. The inconvenient person isn't shot – he is removed: from his job, his bank account, his platform, the conversation. Yezhov needed a retoucher. Today a terms-of-service update does the job. For Poles, these are not names from a history book. They are the names behind our grandparents' graves – and that is why we recognize their heirs.

Barack Obama, Known as Barry, Exposes the Soul of the Democrat Party with His Cheesecake Factory Racism Barack Obama is the filthiest, most dangerous fraud to ever occupy the White House, a slick-tonged, race-baiting con artist who spent eight years dividing this nation and has spent the years since trying to destroy anyone who stands in his way. He is a dirty rat who crawled out of the shadows of Chicago politics to sell a lie to the American people, a lie that he is some kind of benevolent genius when in reality he is a incompetent, racist, and power-hungry failure who left our country weaker, poorer, and more divided than he found it. And now, this pathetic loser has the audacity to open his mouth again, spewing his venomous lies from a stage in Ohio, trying to pretend he cares about the very people he has abandoned. Let us look at the facts, because Obama certainly does not: This man, who claims to be so concerned about "democracy" and "norms," just spent his latest rally mocking the President of the United States with the kind of racist, classist rhetoric that would get any other politician canceled in a heartbeat. He stood in Cleveland, Ohio, a state he knows nothing about and cares even less for, and compared the White House renovations to "Saddam Hussein opening a Cheesecake Factory." Let that sink in. The first black President of the United States, a man who built his entire brand on being a civil rights icon, just compared the American presidency to a brutal Iraqi dictator and a cheesy American restaurant chain. It is racist, it is classist, and it is utterly disgusting. He is mocking the idea of American grandeur, mocking the idea of a strong presidency, and mocking the very people who believe in making America great again. But this is who Obama is. He is a man who has spent his entire career attacking anyone who dares to challenge his narrative. He attacked the Trump administration for everything, from its immigration policies to its economic success, all while his own administration was a revolving door of scandals, corruption, and failure. He tried to destroy Trump with the Russia hoax, a complete and total fabrication that wasted billions of dollars and years of time, only to find nothing. He tried to undermine the 2016 election results, the 2020 election results, and now the 2024 election results, because he cannot accept that the American people do not want his socialist agenda. He is a sore loser, a bitter man who cannot stand the fact that his legacy is one of failure and division. Let us talk about his record, because it is a disaster. Under Obama, we saw the rise of ISIS, a terrorist organization that he mocked as being on the "JV team." We saw the Benghazi attack, where four Americans were killed while he played golf. We saw the IRS scandal, where his administration targeted political opponents. We saw the Fast and Furious scandal, where his administration walked guns into Mexico. We saw the VA scandal, where veterans were left to die while waiting for care. And we saw the creation of Obamacare, a healthcare law that has driven up costs, reduced coverage, and destroyed the American healthcare system. He is a man who has failed on every single issue he has ever touched, yet he has the audacity to lecture us on competence. And now he wants to talk about the economy? This is the man who presided over the slowest economic recovery in history, a recovery that only happened after Trump took office and dismantled his destructive policies. Obama's regulations crushed small businesses, his energy policies destroyed jobs, and his tax hikes hurt the very people he claims to care about. He is a man who has never created a job, never balanced a budget, and never achieved anything in the private sector. He is a professional politician, a parasite who feeds on the success of others while contributing nothing of value himself. His racism is not subtle. It is not hidden. It is out in the open for everyone to see. He uses race as a weapon, a tool to divide and conquer, to pit Americans against each other for his own political gain. He is the one who stoked the flames of racial tension, who told minorities that they are victims, that they are oppressed, that they are powerless without him. He is the one who created the narrative of systemic racism, a narrative that has done more harm to minority communities than any policy in history. He is a racist who uses race to advance his own agenda, and he should be ashamed of himself. The Cheesecake Factory remark is just the latest example of his complete and total lack of class, dignity, and respect for the office he once held. He is a man who has sunk to the lowest possible level, mocking the President and the American people with his pathetic jokes and his racist rhetoric. He is a man who has lost all credibility, all honor, and all shame. He is a disgrace to the office of the President, a disgrace to the Democratic Party (if you can get any lower than that), and a disgrace to the American people. We must not let him forget. We must not let him off the hook. We must hold him accountable for every lie, every betrayal, every moment of treasonous behavior. We must expose him for the fraud he is, the liar he is, the absolute failure he is. He is a loser, a tool, a moron, and a traitor. He is everything wrong with Washington, everything wrong with the Democratic Party, and everything wrong with the radical left. He is a man who has spent his life trying to destroy America, and he will fail. The truth will come out. The lies will be exposed. And Barack Obama will be left with nothing but the wreckage of his own pathetic, dishonest, and treasonous career. He is a man who has nothing to offer but lies, nothing to give but pain, and nothing to be but a warning of what happens when power goes unchecked and morality goes extinct. Barack Obama is a disgrace, and the world will be a better place when he is finally gone.

This is how Obama operates: Hits the campaign trail to rail against "anger and division." Meanwhile his wingwoman Susan Rice is sent out to signal the real agenda: Retribution against political enemies. There will be no "forgive and forget." This fraud has been running this exact same routine for nearly twenty years at this point.

If you ever go to Monticello be prepared to listen to the America-despising and Jefferson-hating guides ram the world “enslaved” down your throat 500 times. They are obsessed with slavery, and they want you to be, too. They want you to hate Jefferson. Seriously. They really do. By the time you leave, you’ll forget Thomas Jefferson ever lived there because they want to you think non-stop about slavery. They want your visit to Monticello to be a cosplay of the TV series ROOTS. This is one of the cabins that some of his slaves lived in. I don’t want to make light of slavery - and I’m not. But … The weather in that area is beautiful most of the year. The slaves lived around the gardens with incredible views in every direction. They ate fresh fruit and vegetables and anything else Jefferson ate. For the most part, they lived and worked with no supervision. In fact, many were on another area of the mountain. Many were well-educated and skilled. They could have easily walked off the mountain and toward Pennsylvania. It would have taken about 10-15 days to get there. Who would have stopped hundreds of slaves walking together? Monticello wants you to be horrified by this cabin. Well, the jokes on them, I think. All things considered, being the 1700s and all, these were really nice digs. In fact, plenty of people then and now could only hope to live in a nice cabin like this in a beautiful and peaceful setting. No one wants to be enslaved. I get that. My point is, life at Monticello was not ROOTS. But unfortunately, that’s what the people running the estate want you to believe. It’s part of a plan to destroy American heroes. They want you to be ashamed of the Founding Fathers. Don’t be. They were absolute heroes in every sense of the word. Thomas Jefferson was a hero. It would be great if the people running Monticello treated him as such. It’s too bad it can’t be owned by the U.S. government and operated by the National Park Service. Monticello and Thomas Jefferson deserve that.

It’s only a matter of time before this archetype returns in Europe.
Charles Martel: The Lesson Europe Forgot Charles Martel earned the name “The Hammer” because he stopped a real, organized invasion (not a metaphor) at a moment when Europe lacked kings willing to act. Who was invading? The force Martel faced in 732 was an expedition of the Umayyad Caliphate, advancing north from al-Andalus (Islamic Iberia). It was led by Abdul Rahman Al-Ghafiqi, a senior governor and battlefield commander. This was not a band of refugees or traders; it was a professional army that had already conquered Spain, crossed the Pyrenees, and defeated local rulers in southern Gaul. Why they were advancing: The Umayyad campaigns followed a clear logic: 1. Imperial expansion: The Caliphate was in a phase of rapid territorial growth, pushing its frontier outward wherever resistance was weak. 2. Raiding and subjugation: Northern Gaul offered wealthy monasteries and towns, tribute, and political leverage. 3. Strategic testing: Like many empires, the Umayyads probed for collapse, advancing until stopped, then consolidating. This pattern had already succeeded across North Africa, the Levant, Persia, and Iberia. Gaul was next. What Martel did: At Battle of Tours, Martel: 1. Chose ground that neutralized cavalry advantage. 2. Held disciplined heavy infantry in formation for days. 3. Refused to chase raids or panic under pressure. 4. Killed the invading commander and broke the campaign’s momentum. The Umayyad force withdrew south and never again attempted a major push into Frankish Europe. Why this matters today: Martel understood something modern Europe avoids saying plainly: Empires advance when they are invited by weakness, ambiguity, and denial. He did not negotiate abstractions. He confronted a material threat with force, unity, and moral confidence in his civilization’s right to exist. The lesson for restoration: Europe doesn’t need myth, but it does need memory. 1. Name reality honestly (invasions are not accidents). 2. Defend borders without apology (borders are civilizational commitments). 3. Reward cohesion over fragmentation (shared norms precede shared prosperity). 4. Act early, because Martel’s real genius was timing. Charles Martel is proof that you don’t need to be a king to save a civilization. Only the will to defend it when others refuse.
