Imagine this: you’re asked to notice your breath. Then, you’re asked to notice yourself noticing your breath. But who is noticing that? You'll realize that you cannot stand outside yourself to point at the source of your awareness. Why? Because the moment you try to point at it, you're already viewing from a new position. However this apparent limitation reveals something profound: • You can trace a trajectory of awareness moving "backward" toward its source • This trajectory isn't moving through physical space but through the structure of consciousness itself • What you discover isn't a "thing" you can point to, because anything pointable-to would already be an object of awareness...not awareness itself • You arrive at a sense of a "no-thingness" from which our awareness emerges...what you might call the ground of consciousness This inward path reveals what Immanuel Kant called the "transcendental ground".

Someday soon people will finally realize what Softwar really was and what it represented. The entire work fits squarely into the classical strategic deterrence tradition by operating on a fundamental rule: you don't deter an opponent by asking who they are; you deter them by making their intended action physically and economically unviable.

THE SOFTWAR THESIS
The single biggest difference between humans and AI agents is the amount of actions they execute on a computer per unit of time. AI agents can look and act just like humans, but execute 10,000X more actions per unit time. that's the tell. so the key to defending cyberspace from AI slop or AI attacks is to target ACTION, not IDENTITY. trying to detect AI is a fool's errand; targeting its BEHAVIOR is the key. So if you want to deter AI from accessing your website/system, simply make it expensive in computational tokens to ACT on your website. Make every command or button cost a token, and suddenly it's 10,000X more costly for AI to act than a human. You can't stop AI, but you can make it extraordinarily expensive to use it. We already know this intuitively, because everybody who has ever run openclaw or their own personal AI agents knows that the single biggest LIMFAC is compute tokens. your AI is only as good as your compute token wallet. but AI compute is constantly getting cheaper and better, and some countries have far better AI compute than others, creating a major imbalance of power. so the key to long term success is to create some kind of universal, non-sovereign, geopolitically neutral compute token network. that is, we need some kind of network that accounts for a bunch of transferable tokens that are computationally expensive to produce. that no amount of AI compute can produce more of. we need a proof-of-compute token network. and we need it to be fully decentralized so that no single person or polity can gain permanent or centralized control over it. we need this network to be globally dispersed. and we need to figure out a way to distribute those compute tokens in a way that's fair, that gives no single person or polity an advantage over the others. perhaps in some kind of first-come first-served basis, where the users who provide the computational power are given the tokens and free to spread them out however they want. if we had this compute token network, the final step to saving ourselves against AI is to simply adopt the habit of making every online action cost some fraction of a compute token, so that it's orders of magnitude more expensive for AI agents to operate online than humans. the first nation to discover this compute token network and use it to its defensive advantage against the threat of agentic AI will win the 21st century. BTW that compute token network is Bitcoin.

I love @Jack but he needs to zoom out imho. Many technologists think because something is able to be done, “it should be done”. What we are seeing daily is that MOST people don’t even know what money is. The problem Bitcoin solves IS broken money. And that starts with the use case that SAVING IS DEAD. Bitcoin is superior saving technology because it is a superior Store of Value. Only many years in the future will we see more organic adoption of Bitcoin as a MoE. Do not forget Bitcoin IS already (also) the best Medium of Exchange. I can offer to buy Jack’s car and offer Bitcoin, which he can accept or not. Zoom out and just don’t stop talking about Bitcoin and the problems it solves for EVERYONE. Then we’ll get there.

This is really interesting (and a very nuanced legal point). What the court DID NOT say: It did not rule that Bitcoin is not property. It is (and the legislation makes that clear. See the Property (Digital Assets) Act 2025 linked in the thread). A court cannot overrule legislation. But remember – English law sees Bitcoin as INTANGIBLE property. The specific cause of action in this case was called the tort of conversion. This is a technical civil ‘wrong’, that happens when one person intentionally interferes with another person’s property in a way that completely deprives the owner of its use or possession. What happened in this case was that the seed phrase for the claimant’s @Trezor was accessed by his estranged wife, and she then swept his wallet. The tort of conversion MIGHT have enabled him to bring a claim against her for the lost property. The kicker? The tort of conversion ONLY applies where a tangible, physical asset is involved. The law may over time evolve to change this, but at the moment, other causes of action must be used to bring his claim, such as unjust enrichment and proprietary restitution. TLDR? The court did not say that Bitcoin wasn’t property. They said, correctly, that it is not PHYSICAL property, and that therefore the specific legal claim, and the specific legal remedy, sought by the complainant were not applicable in this case.
