basically: english and rust are better programming languages than ruby. humans won't write code anymore, and the agents like to write rust, which is fine by him if he never has to read it. As a result, 37signals is not using rails for next version of Hey. There was really no mention of Rails at all in his talk, other than acknowledging it has served a huge purpose and will continue to do so for a little while longer. I generally nod along with his takes, but this time he sounded like someone who got one-shotted by ayahuasca, or maybe a cult leader. Maybe he'll come back around, like Tobi at Shopify did recently. But I think he's probably just going to retire and have agents build Omarchy, which is cool.
