The 1 person billion dollar company narrative is absurdly depressing.
SV people keep shilling this concept that their AI is great because it creates infinite wealth by enabling everyone to be a founder and running SMBs earning six figures to 7 figures
Why is that a win?
Founding is inherently greater when itās not just you winning, but when you have a team.
Thereās a reason more Americans played basketball or football growing up than tennis
Work is what we spend the most of our life on, and to make it inherently an individual endeavor would be depressing
But tbf the reason people shill this narrative is more because theyāre similar to course sellers where they know get rich quick schemes are what get buyers more than almost anything else (other than ig get hot quick schemes)
Any time I see a founder shill the narrative it disappoints me (barring companies like stripe, slash, etc, that actually do make this more possible)

I think the best chance you have at an AI eventually planning this right is either TikTok releasing an agent or Meta with Muse.
The reason being is they can train their AI on top of hundreds of millions of minutes of video content created by creators going to coffee shops, hotels, and events in various cities.
They can then use that reference data to plan your trip.
At some point, one of the two will eventually get there.
Traveled to 14 cities internationally this year. I have never come across an AI tool (including Claude and ChatGPT) that can plan my travel well.
Restaurant, cafe, coffee shop recs have a 50% hit rate.
Sightseeing recs are always missing a minor detail (place is closed, require tickets, is insanely crowded, etc.)
Hotel recs aren't great - they're never the hotels I'd actually end up staying in.
Transport recs are decent.
I think the human touch is still so important here.
Has anyone actually had success using AI to plan an entire trip?

Then, I stopped trying to explain myself to people who benefit from misunderstanding me.
Finally, I stopped giving my attention to people I wouldnāt choose to sit across from at dinner.

Look at how many companies get so big that stop innovating.
I really like where this is going.
