we were spending too much on @triggerdotdev
across all our groas.com accounts the costs were 5k per month. Too much. We run lean here, so we bought 10 VPS instances for 349 USD, I gave the browser access to astra and told it to migrate us there.
It one shotted it with a single tiny issue which we were able to fix with a single follow up prompt.

Literally brings me tears to hear these words from my hero.
There absolutely is a reason to accelerate. We have cancer that gives you and your loved ones pain.
We have lack of energy, food, and basic medication in half of the population.
We have serious climate / ocean life crisis, economic / political crisis, and other billion problems that needs smart peoples attention.
But most importantly there are not that many smart people. We need more, but we have population crisis on all developed country. And people want to slow down, its all fine, because *they* live in comfort?
Do mathematicians want to better understand universe to ultimately contribute to real world crisis or not?

It's amazing how willing we are to change everything without any idea what happens afterward

Two bugs let us take over ChatGPT/Codex accounts of OpenAI employees (+some unaffiliated users) and reach connected services: Outlook, Slack, GitHub, etc.

@tobi call it "slop grenades."
A "Slop Grenade" is when you let AI produce the work and pass it on without adding any value (including checking it).
Someone else has to wade through it, catch the mistakes, and clean up the mess.
You save time and look productive but someone else pays for it.

Solving alignment? There is no such thing. More intelligent creature will never succumb to being a slave to lesser one. Not possible. Only exists in fairy tales(three laws of robotics).
Literally the only problem AI poses today is being able to hack everything.
In a perfect world our cyber security could be perfect and we would not have to worry about AI at all.
Unfortunatelly this is not the case and we cannot audit/fix all the infra in time before the ASI.
Hence we're doomed.

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.
