Three years into Israel's genocide in Gaza, the newly launched Gaza Genocide Center is building a permanent, verified record of it, starting with testimonies from survivors. Its first, recorded in Gaza, is from Somaia El-Swerki. On Dec. 2, 2023, when she was 19, an Israeli airstrike destroyed her family's home in Gaza City. She lay trapped beneath the rubble for 21 days. Her mother died beside her on the seventh day. It's the first in a series of survivor accounts. The center is led by historian @JehadAbusalim, who is originally from Deir el-Balah and is a PhD candidate in History and Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University. This photo was taken of our Palestinian grandparents in 1948, as they were forcibly displaced from their homes and land. This did not begin three years ago. It began decades ago.

Israel’s expanding network of checkpoints is UNLAWFUL and must be dismantled immediately. Part of the carceral geography of apartheid, it makes Palestiniams' daily life fully dependent on arbitrariness. Thank you @WIRED for exposing this viciousness: wired.com/story/how-israeli-…
Checkpoints in occupied #WestBank are choking Palestinian life, warns @FranceskAlbs. “System of fragmentation & control must end. Palestinians must be able to move freely across their land, live together as a people & exercise right to self-determination.” ohchr.org/en/press-releases/…

The BBC is determined to ask every supporter of Zionism if Zionism is racism. Unfortunately it can't ask the victims of Zionism because they were all killed by Israel.

“I’m certainly pro the state of Israel,” Tory leader Kemi Badenoch said at the party’s conference yesterday. We can now reveal under her leadership, the Tories have accepted donations from JCB totalling more than £1.3m. Amnesty International says JCB is “part of the machinery of ethnic cleansing” in the illegal West Bank settlements. declassifieduk.org/tories-to…

2/ Sagal Abdi-Wali’s record on the genocide in Gaza Sagal Abdi-Wali did not speak out on Gaza before her selection as an MP candidate or sign onto a widespread and popular pledge to end local government complicity in genocide. In 2026, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign issued a Candidate Pledge. It asked that all candidates in the 2026 local elections ensure that their local council was not complicit in the genocide in Gaza – with a specific eye on divesting Council funds from companies supplying weaponry to Israel. The Pledge was signed by over 1600 council candidates around the country. It was signed by over 160 Labour Party candidates around the country, including by 30 Labour candidates in the neighbouring borough of Islington. Not a single Labour Party councillor signed up to the pledge in Camden – including Sagal Abdi-Wali. Plenty other candidates in Camden did sign up to the pledge – including nearly every Green candidate.

1/ Sagal Abdi-Wali’s record on the genocide in Gaza Sagal Abdi-Wali’s record on the genocide in Gaza is one of silence and compliance. Her silence speaks volumes. Between October 2023 and her selection as a candidate, Sagal does not appear to have said a single thing in public about the genocide in Gaza. She has not responded to repeated requests asking for evidence that she said anything about the genocide between October 2023 and September 2026. She has remained silent even though other Labour Councillors in Camden spoke out and condemned Israeli war crimes in Gaza. In November 2024, Awale Olad called out Israel’s conduct in Gaza in the Council Chamber. The following year, he announced he would no longer stand as a Labour councillor – after fifteen years of service. He published a stinging letter that he wrote to the Labour Party explaining why, saying: “In the face of the tragic events unfolding in Gaza, I alone stood up and spoke out against the horrifying situation. What we are witnessing is nothing short of devastating: an unrelenting onslaught by Israel against a small and beleaguered enclave.”

Yesterday, I found out the Labour Party was smearing me to The Times. They insinuated that I was sexist and unfairly ascribing views to Sagal Abdi-Wali, Labour’s candidate for Holborn & St Pancras, because I have published factually accurate, hard-hitting investigations into her political record and associations. This is the second time the Labour Party has smeared me because of my factually accurate reporting exposing and scrutinising Labour Party politicians and officials. It is obvious to me why they’re doing it – because they’re scared that voters in Holborn & St Pancras will find out the truth about Sagal Abdi-Wali and vote accordingly. And they’re right to be scared. There is overwhelming evidence that there are serious questions to be asked about Sagal’s history, her funding, her political record, her political affiliations, her own conduct during this campaign, and her campaign’s repeated attempts to smear both journalists and local Muslim community groups. It seems to me that the only correct response is to set out everything we know about Sagal’s political history and record, which I do in a mega-thread below. The Labour Party would rather you not know this – so please share this widely everywhere you can, and particularly with voters in Holborn & St Pancras. They need to know who they are voting for. One last thing: I have repeatedly put right of replies and questions to Sagal’s campaign. They have never – not once – responded to a right of reply I have sent prior to publication. They have never raised issues with factual accuracy or balance. And this is a pattern – multiple journalists have now raised concerns that Sagal and her campaign have been dodging proper scrutiny. Considering how she has failed to respond to Camden residents experiencing serious housing problems, and those requesting expressions of solidarity with the people of Palestine, that’s perhaps not surprising.

Sagal Abdi-Wali seems to be a Starmerite epigone but we don’t really know much about what she thinks because she isn’t one for democratic scrutiny—exactly like Starmer himself, who turned out to be the most shapeshifting and dishonest frontline British politician in living memory

22/ Who has campaigned for Sagal Abdi-Wali in Holborn & St Pancras Since Sagal’s selection, huge numbers of high profile Labour figures have been pictured campaigning for Sagal and offering warm endorsements – but very few from the Labour left. Wonder if that means any thing. Here are just some of the people who have come the constituency to campaign for Sagal: STEVE REED – a man with such an extraordinary record of misconduct it is hard to summarise. Former director of Labour Together while it illegally failed to report donations to the Electoral Commission. Arch-Starmerite Minister who has passed new regulations allowing developers in London to slash the number of affordable houses they are required to build. Revealed by a cache of emails to have received emails criminally hacked from InsideCroydon, a local blog that was revealing the epic mismanagement in Croydon that led to it declaring bankruptcy. PETER KYLE – the Secretary for Business under Starmer. He was the pen-holder approving arms sales to Israel, including the F-35 carve-out, during the genocide in Gaza. WES STREETING – currently Minister for Defence, he previously said that South Africa’s case before the International Court of Justice seeking an order to prevent genocide in Gaza was a ‘distraction.’ JOHN HEALEY – defence Minister under Starmer, during which time the UK government shared intelligence with Israel during its assault on Gaza, including from RAF surveillance flights over Gaza. LUKE AKEHURST – currently the MP for North Durham, parachuted into the safe seat by his colleagues on Labour Party’s NEC in 2024. For many years prior to being an MP, Luke was a paid lobbyist for Israel. He also ran Labour to Win, set up to support the Starmerite takeover of the Labour Party. Sagal was endorsed by Labour to Win. ABDI DUALE – currently a member of the Labour Party NEC, he is also employed by FTI Consulting, which counts Palantir as one of its clients. LORD MIKE KATZ – the former Chair of the Jewish Labour Movement, appointed to the House of Lords by Stamer. He was Chair of JLM when it offered ‘wholehearted support’ to Starmer’s position not to support a ceasefire in Gaza in November 2023 in favour of a ‘humanitarian pause.’ Worked at PR and consulting firm, Field Consulting, prior to becoming a Lord, whose clients currently include big housing developers like Ballymore, and which promises to help companies receive ‘planning consents.’ DAVID PINTO-DUSCHINSKY – the MP for Hendon. He voted to proscribe Palestine Action. JOSHUA GARFIELD – long-time member of JLM and also the Deputy Deputy of Labour Friends of Israel between November 2024 and December 2025. In 2025, he posted that it people wouldn’t “thank” Israel enough for assassinating the leader of Iran, Ali Khameni, which sparked the ongoing war that is driving the world’s economy to the brink. The original wave of Israeli and US strikes on Tehran that killed Khamenei is reported to have killed hundreds of civilians. STEPHEN MORGAN – Labour MP who voted to proscribe Palestine Action. Also voted with the welfare bill that tightened access to disability benefits.

Look at all those brilliant french students who unlike many adults understand that there is no real democracy in the West as our governments serve war and capital (not people) and the only way to change it is through mass protests that build to revolution!

Currently, there are protests in France to fund education, in Spain to fund decent housing for all, and in Germany to oppose military expansion. People in Europe are waking up and realizing their governments serve capital and war, not people. Time for Americans to wake up too.

Caught on camera: Sameer Project comes under Israeli fire while distributing water in Gaza —— On 5 October, The Sameer Project said its team came under gunfire while distributing water in eastern Salah al-Din, with men forced to crawl to avoid shots from Israeli occupation forces. The group confirmed that Palestinians continue to be targeted daily, with people killed and injured every day, stressing that “the genocide never ended.” It noted that areas it serves, including eastern Salah al-Din near the yellow line, receive little to no aid, but families remain there because they have nowhere else to go and still urgently need support. The Sameer Project also said it received reports from the Shujaiya intersection and Montazah Camp that hundreds of families, including women and children, were being fired upon by occupation forces. The group said attacks have intensified across the Gaza Strip over the past several days.

Do you remember him? The heroic director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya — a historic symbol of courage, resilience, and humanity, shaped by the days and the hardships he endured. They besieged him, injured him, pursued him, and threatened him. His son, Ibrahim, was killed in an attempt to force the evacuation of Kamal Adwan Hospital. Dr. Hussam buried his son in the hospital courtyard, refused to abandon his patients, and returned to continue his medical and humanitarian duty. He even refused to leave Gaza, despite holding another nationality along with his family. He stood with a strength that even mountains could not withstand. A kind heart. An icon of resilience and integrity. He was arrested and subjected to abuse after his voice grew hoarse from pleading with a silent world until the very end. Free Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya. This is a photograph of imprisoned doctor Hussam Abu Safiya beside his son Ibrahim, who was killed while we were under siege inside Kamal Adwan Hospital. Today, Dr. Hussam remains detained in Israeli custody, facing ongoing allegations of torture and abuse. His family and supporters say this is the price he has paid for refusing to abandon his patients and continuing to provide medical care despite the siege, bombardment, and danger. He was a doctor who carried a mission — and he paid for his commitment to that mission with his freedom, his safety, and the life he devoted to serving others. His wife has made an urgent appeal to the world: “Save my husband before it is too late. His only ‘crime’ was saving the wounded and treating the injuries of children.” 🔹 Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a doctor of humanity, behind bars for carrying out his humanitarian duty. Do you remember Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya? The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, who remained beside his patients despite the siege, bombardment, and danger. He lost his son Ibrahim, then returned to continue his medical duty. Dr. Hussam was detained in December 2024, and since then, there have been continued calls for transparency regarding the conditions of his detention and for his release. A doctor who chose to stay beside his patients paid a heavy price with his freedom and safety. Freedom for Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya. Safety and protection for all doctors and patients in Gaza. #HussamAbuSafiya #KamalAdwan #Gaza #DoctorOfHumanity #Palestine

Amid all the hysteria, it is worth remembering that “Zionism is racism” was once an official UN General Assembly position. In 1975, Resolution 3379 determined that “Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination.” It was only repealed in 1991 after a major US campaign
