Gaza is under random gunfire right now. We don’t understand what is happening here. Gunfire is literally everywhere. Tanks and military bulldozers are firing randomly at tents and homes, while aircraft are flying extremely low, making terrifying sounds that are impossible to describe. Don’t stop talking about Gaza. Don’t let the world become numb to what is happening here.

I have literally spent the last month trekking around Jordan interviewing elderly Nakba survivors and hearing their harrowing stories- and just completed a three hour video interview on Saturday night. No one I talked to left before multiple neighbours or family members had been shot and killed. Few of them had any weapons of any sort to protect themselves and if they did they were ancient Turkish muskets. Their opponents were armed with modern, newly-imported Czech rifles and many had been trained and drilled by the British. It became simply suicidal to remain, though many old people tried to so. The guy I interviewed on Saturday fled with his mother after their village was bombed. Their father remained and was loaded onto a truck to Gaza, at gunpoint, by the Haganah. Many of the family members that remained in Gaza have been killed in the last two years

On the day of the Israeli elections, Israeli forces have just murdered 6-year-old Tahani Shalalfa who succumbed to her wounds from Israeli live rounds in Mwasi Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

I have raised the imprisonment of Dr Mazen Al Rantisi in Parliament and on every platform I could and so I am pleased he has been released but his physical condition evidences his mistreatment at the hands of the IDF. Residents are living in fear, cut off from basic necessities. We urgently call on the UN, international governments, and humanitarian organizations to act now: protect civilians, demand an end to unlawful demolitions and collective restrictions, and ensure safe access to essential supplies and emergency services. Hebron must not be forgotten. We need urgent action, not just statements of concern.
