Argentina Could Be Getting A Serious Israeli Strike Upgrade
I’m paying close attention to reports that Israel could supply Argentina with LORA for naval launchers and RAMPAGE for its Air Force, because these are not ordinary weapons.
LORA is a quasi ballistic precision missile. The latest Naval LORA configuration is reported with a range of up to 430 km, a roughly 600 kg warhead, GPS/INS guidance and about 10 meter accuracy. It can be fired from a dedicated launcher installed on a ship for sea to shore or sea to sea strikes.
Then there’s RAMPAGE.
This is a supersonic air to ground standoff missile, around 4.7 meters long and roughly 570–610 kg, using GPS/INS guidance with anti jamming capability. It is designed for high value targets such as air defense sites, command centers, bases, bunkers and infrastructure, and can be integrated with different Western or Eastern combat aircraft.
The interesting part is the combination.
LORA could give Argentina long range precision strike from the sea, while RAMPAGE could let its fighter aircraft attack defended targets from standoff range.
That would be a significant change for Argentina, not just more weapons, but a much stronger deep strike capability across both naval and air forces.
And why would Israel be interested? Buenos Aires and Jerusalem have been moving toward much closer strategic and defense cooperation, making Argentina an increasingly important partner for Israel in South America.
If these reports become actual contracts, Argentina’s military could be entering a very different strike capability league.
