The guy who bailed out his Wall Street donors as they threw 10 million families out of their homes is now chiding “the left” for making materialist arguments about improving people’s economic situation rather than telling morality stories. Truly unreal.

Warned my Spanish teacher during our online class that covid is high here now. She went to a public health clinic the other day where there was a sign saying to wear a mask. Employees usually wear them there but the security guards weren't nor patients, including the elderly.

France ordered big businesses to cover their parking lots in solar panels, and the businesses are embracing it.
Carrefour is putting solar canopies over 350 of its store lots, 180,000 parking spaces, and using the power to run its supermarkets.
Disneyland Paris started even earlier: its guest lot now has more than 80,000 panels over 11,200 spaces, producing about 17% of the resort's electricity.
France passed the law in 2023 requiring most large outdoor parking lots to put renewable-energy canopies or other qualifying shade over at least half the lot.
Many businesses don't pay a cent upfront.
Carrefour isn't even fronting the construction cost. GreenYellow is financing the entire installation and operating it under a 20-year power agreement. Carrefour uses the electricity and says the project will significantly reduce its energy bills.
The government estimates it could add up to 11 gigawatts of solar. In full sun, that's about as much as 10 nuclear reactors.
The US has somewhere between 700 million and 2 billion parking spaces. Most of them are bare asphalt baking in the sun.

The thing about Trump is his corruption is so obvious that anyone not in a cult can see it. What makes Obama and Democrats so dangerous is they disguise their corruption with “moral” rhetoric that lulls the population to sleep while the bombs are dropping.

Wildlife populations have declined 69% on average since 1970. Forests cover 31% of Earth but house 80% of terrestrial species. When we cut forests, we cut life itself.

Employee in my org died suddenly this week (30s). Someone just retired early for medical reasons (50s). Someone complained that their trip to Europe might not happen bc spouse (40s) had a stroke and MIL (70s) is recovering from blood clots in her lungs. I’m weird bc I mask tho.

Social embarrassment is a stronger thing in most people than the survival instinct. I wonder how our species has survived this long.
I will never forget when someone I know well - someone who openly acknowledges that he has lasting damage from Covid - said to me a couple of years ago, 'I know I should wear a mask but I can't stand people looking at me'.
