An argument I used to historically make against this pro-abortion viewpoint was that its philosophical reasoning would logically extend to a need to kill the elderly and the infirm to reduce the burdens they place on their families and society. I was often accused of being absurd or ghoulish for making this point by abortion advocates, but that was back before euthanizing the elderly and infirm became more or less a central policy proposal of the global left
The decision to carry and raise a child can shape every part of a person’s financial life. @JessicaValenti joins Vox’s @AsteadWH to explain why abortion belongs in Democrats’ affordability message and what the party misses when it treats reproductive rights as a social issue.

Did Mamdani ever explain why he was sitting on the wrong side of Washington's desk for that July address? Was it intentional, like an upside down American flag? He's so awful
Who let this depraved genocidal Communist sit behind George Washington’s desk

This is from an insider. Take heed. Losing the House matters a lot.
Do you want to know what's at stake this November? Right now, House committee dems are developing ideas for potential oversight actions (hearings, leg items, reports, etc). They are preparing *now* for a win in November, so they can begin a full court press in January. This will cover every department and agency action from the routine (eg reprogramming funds from pet programs) to the more involved (Maduro, cartel strikes, etc). The House has historically been the chamber dedicated to the theater portion of “political theater” but if the Dems win, expect it to look like a musical of organized chaos. There will be a lot of throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. And committee leaders will use their positions to figure out what attacks are resonating and which ones aren’t. The focus will be more on the bread and butter issues: healthcare, affordability, etc. And expect House Dems to come together on legislative items to push that message on bills that will allow them to make Senate Rs look like they are against making living more affordable for American workers. The culture wars will also be on the table, but it will be focused less on making points you'd hear from the Western Mass covid conscious bar patrons, and more on constituencies that have traditionally represented core voting blocks for Dems (women, minorities, etc). To the extent there will be any DSA-esque talking points mirrored- it will be those intersectionality issues that connect class-conscioussness with race-consciousness, and framed in subtle and not-entirely-accurate ways like "the disappearing Black middle class." And because no member of this administration will want to cooperate with any policy and/or character assassination attempts by the House, expect support for these efforts from the usual suspects and new players of DC think tanks and advocacy orgs. [Side note: a good tell of whether a "Committee Report" is substantively driven vs theater driven: is it authored by both sides or just one (with minority views), does it lift whole passages or policy points from outside orgs, and was any agency involved in creating it?] To the extent the American people want to see a focus on real, workable policies that *actually* help families and working class Americans, do not look to the House. Assuming the House does flip, and the Senate stays like it (with possibly thinner margins), you can expect even less (no, don't laugh) from Congress next year.

Chrissy knows the President was saying that high gas prices are a small price to pay to prevent an Iranian nuclear attack. He doesn't care. So he implies the President and half of America is laughing at the hypothetical destruction of American cities. He doesn't care how reckless & dangerous it is to push that lie. He just wants to win. At any cost. The Democrat Party is broken. Stop voting for them before they drive us to another civil war.
This is such a sick, evil thing to say. Especially because he’s not saying this as a joke. Just as sick that his supporters are laughing at it.

Democrats will say anything to hold on to power Of course Hakeem knows Pres. Trump was saying that high gas prices are a minor sacrifice to prevent the annihilation of American cities, but he pretends Pres. Trump was saying the exact opposite. What is truly awful about Hakeem and his ilk is that they don't understand how dangerous and corrosive their rhetoric really is to our country
The nuclear annihilation of an American city is no laughing matter.

Is she really that stupid? Given the average IQ of elected Democrats, it's a coin toss. No one this dumb, or this willing to pretend the President of the United States was somehow suggesting it was okay to sacrifice American cities, should be anywhere near Congress.
My constituents — including many active duty service members, veterans, and their families — are not acceptable collateral damage in Trump’s stupid war.

Elon Musk already fled with Tesla, SpaceX, In N Out, Oracle, Chevron, CBRE...you have to be vegetable level dumb to look at all the companies fleeing for Texas and say "eh, nobody's going anywhere!". Rohit married into money, so of course I'm not surprised he's economically illiterate, but this is insane. Look at the disaster that just happened in LA. They just jacked our sales tax over 10% because they pushed so many businesses and successful people out of LA, they have to make up that loss in tax revenue off the backs of poor and middle class people. Remember, it's easy to get hyped about income taxes, because poor people don't pay that at all...but they get disproportionately damaged by sales tax increases, which is always the inevitable result of these kinds of punitive taxes. I'm not rich. I don't care about billionaires getting taxed. But I know that it NEVER stops with them. It always ends up fucking us, because the people with means will leave. Of course, not all of them...but enough that these scammers in government like Rohit will invariably have to raise OUR taxes to make up for it. Don't forget...while Khanna likes to trivialize it by saying "oh it's just these 250 people with all the wealth", what he's not telling you is that these 250 people also supply 50% of the state's general fund. Literally half of all of California's public services are funded by this small group of uber-wealthy people that he's demonizing. So if a few of them leave...who's gonna pay for all the firefighters? What about CalTrans? Well...we know exactly what will happen...ANOTHER sales tax hike is on the ballot right now in LA to fund the LAFD that Karen Bass defunded. So YOU will be making up for it. And our gas is the highest in the country entirely because of the ever-increasing gas taxes...so yes, YOU will end up paying for all the damage that Rohit and all his commie minions will bring upon our economy by attacking the people who fund our public services. I don't care if you hate billionaires. They don't care either. They're enjoying their yachts. But you have to understand the financial situation we are in. Gavin Newsom and all the slime bags in Sacramento with their $120B trains to nowhere and $140M wildlife bridges to nowhere have been spending us into financial ruin. We are being looted with fraud. And those billionaires you hate are the only ones keeping the entire California economy from collapsing under the weight of all this atrocious governance. This one time punitive tax will help fund a tiny special interest group for one year. That's it. YOU will see absolutely zero benefit. Not even 1/3rd of 1% of California will get any money from this tax. It's something like 80K union employees will get a one time temporary stimulus. Then it's gone. But if just a few of these titan industrialists leave the state, like Elon did, and they take thousands of jobs and industry with them...that damage is PERMANENT. This is 100% an Atlas shrugged moment, and I will bet you my Airstream this will end up costing you and me even more...because it ALWAYS does. And the billionaires will be fine either way.

Your Majesty @HMKCIII , Your country is being invaded, and that invasion is being facilitated by your government. If there is still a purpose for the monarchy, this is it.
🚨 82,000 PEOPLE. THE WHOLE TOWN OF GOSPORT UNDER A DISPERSAL ORDER UNTIL TUESDAY. Hampshire Police have placed the whole town of Gosport under a Section 34 dispersal order. So that unchecked undocumented men can be brought into the country facilitated by the government. The order remains in place until 7am on Tuesday 6 October. 82,000 people. An entire town under extraordinary police powers. And this is becoming normal in Britain. Absolutely outrageous. #Gosport #SmallBoats #IllegalMigration #Britain

Do you think the Left will ever be forced to come to terms with the conflict between their relentless advocacy of women's rights vs. their ignorant embrace of Islam? (or the whole "trans" nonsense, for that matter)
🚨NEW: Speaking in an interview, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has claimed that nearly every woman arriving by small boat has been raped "You can almost guarantee that every woman in the north of France has probably been raped along the journey" [@guardian]

Five years ago, Attorney General Merrick Garland issued an infamous memorandum at the urging of the National School Boards Association and White House officials, directing the FBI and United States Attorneys to consider looking for a federal hook to prosecute parents exercising their right to free speech. Today, we are releasing the “Report to Expose the Weaponization of Government Against Parents in Schools” which details Weaponization of the Department against these parents — from attempting to get the National Security Division involved to ignoring repeated warnings from employees that leadership’s actions could be unconstitutional. Along with the report, we’ve released hundreds of exhibits and emails that make official and verify what many Americans had guessed: the Garland DOJ worked hand in hand with WH officials and the National School Boards Association to chill free speech and parental rights while they threatened to prosecute parents and label them domestic terrorists. Read the full report and our remedies here: justice.gov/opa/media/146420…

This interview with Mamdani exposes the root of the problem. For 30+ years, American children have been taught that hard work, merit, and personal responsibility are the language of the oppressor, and that the American Dream is a fraud. The remedy, they are told, is government-enforced equal outcomes, regardless of effort or ability. That worldview did not spread on its own. It was pushed relentlessly by an educational culture that treats unequal results as proof of injustice, and by a politics of short-sighted compassion that refuses to price the cost of its remedies. The "feminization" of American culture allowed that misguided compassion to morph into something much more dangerous - the "suicidal empathy" @GadSaad defined for us. Two generations were thus indoctrinated. The result is the appeal of figures like Mamdani, AOC, and Bernie Sanders: salesmen of redistribution who reject the lessons of the Enlightenment & wear their ignorance of basic economics as a badge of honor. The failure of our schools is not a side issue. It is as corrosive as the ideological training of children elsewhere who are raised to treat enemies as subhuman. As @GovRonDeSantis has shown in Florida, reversing that failure should be the first national priority. yahoo.com/news/politics/arti…

Is California finally read for a change?!? Are they finally fed up with one-party, disasterous governance? How about another immigrant Governor? And @SteveHiltonx can actually pronounce the state name!
OMG … one of my favorite lines in this debate is when Becerra said “isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?” To which @SteveHiltonx replied, “Yeah, like voting Democrat.” Becerra walked right into that one!🤣😂

Ah yes because… checks notes… Muslims are well known all around the world for keeping church and state separate and their incredible respect for religious freedoms.
When people ask me how I, as a Jew, can support @AbdulElSayed, it’s bc nothing is more dangerous to religious minorities in the U.S. than the creation of a state religion. Mike Rogers will confirm judges hellbent on destroying any separation of church & state. Abdul will not,
