Authoritarian governments are effective at getting things done - things that lead to good consequences and also things that lead to bad consequences. The issue isn’t with authoritarianism, but with the capability and morality of those in authority. Just as it is with democracy.

Different situations call for different governing models to let capable moral leaders to take charge, whether in times of crisis or in times of peace, or in times of prosperity etc, whether the populace is educated or discerning or individualistic or collective etc…
