I paid $3599 for the 5090 in June. Not even 3 months later the same GPU is now $4700! INSANE!
I bought a 5090. Don't need it now but might want it in 6-12 months.
Most 5090s are already close to $4K. I think we see $5K within 2-3 months.
Not going to open it. If prices drop, I have 30 days to return it. If they go up, I'll know I was right

as I look at my "For you" feed and see the stupid content from people with 100x more followers than me, getting 20x more likes, I wonder if I should do more engagement farming.
1. PostGresSql is the best DB, change my mind(2600 followers, 213 likes)
2. Coding is the easy part, what is the hard part? (14K followers, 166 likes)

Sold the jeep through @Carvana. Absolutely ZERO-hassle. Driver showed up at 6:58pm, check in hand for the agreed upon amount by 7:05, loaded and gone by 7:16pm.

As a @dotnet developer, I have 99% abandoned mocking/isolation frameworks.
The idea of testing in isolation made sense in theory, but in practice it makes almost zero sense.

even with AI, some problems are hard and take skill + knowledge. I've been brainstorming a solution back and forth for an hour on this one and still not at a workable solution.

My software is 100x better due to AI:
-AI makes fewer errors than I do in new code
-Claude finds existing bugs + flags them. I either fix now OR it adds them to a known-issues.md (that I setup) for me to circle back.
-Claude skill for code review
-Github CoPilot scanning
-Using AI to generate Playwright tests
-AWS Security Agent used AI agents to do a pentest for us + even wrote the PRs to fix issues
-Claude hooked into Sentry, exceptions flow into PRs
-Clade writes/updates documentation
Pro-Tip: AI generated code can be noisy and volumous, which is tedious to review. Create your claude.md(/init) then add karpathy's claude.md and ponytail.md(actually a skill but add the ladder to your claude.md) and it writes 100x better code
AI makes it so easy to polish rough edges and smooth out your product experience. Yet pretty much every piece of software is falling apart.
Why? The devs building them don't care.
Software built by people detached from the users has never felt worse.

Some worry they will forget their skills since AI does the job for them. I have to ask, did you learn from typing?
AI is like pair programming with a 10x developer. You should be learning MORE, much more.
This of course assumes you still read the code and understand it and aren't just checking it in 🤷♂️

I just 1-shotted an AI project. A year ago, when people said they vibe coded anything meaningful in 1 shot, I doubted them (probably rightfully so). Today, I did it.
-upgraded a site from Angular 6 to 22
-applied modern, branded design system
-significant UI/UX revisions in Claude design
-Claude code w/the design 1 shotted it.
The new UI is *beautiful*, one of the nicest UIs I've ever seen.
Without AI this would be a ~3 month project. I did it in 3 hours + wrote zero lines of code.

Claude design is straight up LEGIT! It designs UIs better than Claude Code writes code. I am no longer certain that AI didn't read my mind.
