Many who are sympathetic to the Iranian expansionist project have been quick to highlight Israel’s recent incursions into Syria as some sort of evidence that Damascus is now ruled by Zionists.
Yet there is documented evidence that Israel also crossed beyond the boundary into the Golan Heights during Assad’s rule, establishing the Sufa 53 entrenchment line, including in mid-2022 (two years before al-Sharaa took Damascus), when Hezbollah and various Iranian-backed militias were operating near the border.
This is not merely an assertion from critics. The episode was reported by Israeli media and acknowledged by IDF Major (ret.) Shadi Khalloul.

Anyone who criticizes Israel will not receive a US visa, and anyone who already has one could lose it.
U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun says the Trump administration has intensified its efforts against antisemitism, including implementing stricter visa vetting and having revoked more than 250,000 visas.
