I’m Buddy’s owner.
It was honestly strange seeing all of this come back after so many years.
Back then Buddy was just my rescued dog, very sick, and I was doing everything I could to save him. I spent months researching, speaking to vets, trying different things, just trying to keep him going long enough to get the surgery he needed.
In 2013 I wrote about Buddy on Bitcointalk because Bitcoin was already tied into what was happening with him.
Then in May 2014 someone wrote into Bitcoin.
“Buddy is the best dog in the world”
I never imagined people would still be finding that all these years later.
But somehow this community followed the old posts, found Buddy’s story, and eventually found me too.
That still means a lot to me.
The article below explains the history properly and how Buddy became one of the earliest documented animals on-chain.
We relaunched because we want Buddy to keep growing in a way that can actually last and continue doing the good with the rescue work we’ve started with @ARCorps & many more to come.
We stand tall with Buddy and I’m really happy to see people care about him again.
He was a very special dog ❤️
