Last year I realised there was a lack of introductory literature on the basics of anarchist-communism; how our organisations function and the theories behind the way we organise. So I've attempted to write something that I hope comrades will find useful. redblacknotes.com/2022/07/30…

Maybe I'm politically naive but I feel like individual parties calling stunt actions is a bit shit when we could be building movements

It’s crucial for the Australian Right to insist on the incorrect idea that government policy is driving inflation- otherwise they would be forced to confront the reality of the long term dwindling of supply & increasing disfunction in capitalism on a global scale.

The publication in 2022 of "The End of Capitalism: The Thought of Henryk Grossman" by Ted Reese marks a renewed interest in the breakdown of the capitalist system and the forces driving capitalism towards this breakdown. leftcom.org/en/articles/2026…

The great thing about 'Children of Men' is, every time you watch 'Children of Men', you are doing so from a world which is incrementally closer to sustaining the events of 'Children of Men'.
Watching Children of Men for like the 5th time and still noticing new background details

This was suprisingly good for an analysis put out by VTHC. A few highlights and critiques below. >

The answer is in building unions and class power with no shortcuts. Can't disagree here. However I think he fails to analyse the democratic defecit in Australian unions after decades of reactionary government and restructuring. Overall, decent pamphlet.

I think the biggest flaw in the pamphlet is how it treats the ALP as a left wing party (imo they're the best at 'managing capital' in Oz). The author identifies how other international center left parties shift to the right, and provides stats that the phenomenon is slower here.

The section on gender was really interesting, linking growth in sexist ideology to insecurity amongst working class men. Of course, this doesn't answer for growth of violence against women amongst other classes. But it's often missing from the conversation.

Of course, income inequality and the fracturing of working class community are at the heart of everything. Nothing to really disagree with in this section.

The author analyses how identity is constructed and how that's changed over the last few decades. He puts forward a solid argument that identity politics is at the core of the far right. I can't help but notice how it's really an inevitably of liberalism in crisis

As someone born in Penrith but mostly growing up in Newy the consternation is real. Don't have high hopes the Knights can take the Roosters though..
