People who wish their country had a left wing party like La France Insoumise to build class power get it backwards. LFI owes what success it’s had to an already existing context of struggle in France. It will only achieve anything on the basis of class power outside of parliament

Everyone hates radical liberal posturing — let’s be honest about it!
there's a range of rabidly antisocial behaviors that have been allowed to flourish in lefty-land that are only acceptable to talk about when there's An Incident of such clownish proportions that a temporary "letting out of steam" is permitted until Ted Cruz weighs in

I would count myself as pretty close to the ‘socialism from below’ camp, though Lenin who is included by most in this camp was extremely clear about favouring revolutionary action from above and below.

They’re currently trying to revoke his Israeli citizenship on claims of treason, FYI
If Yuval Abraham was actually a threat to the Zionist entity, instead of someone working to redeem the project, then the entity would murder him in an instant. Just remember that. The purpose he serves is to hijack the narrative from Palestinians in an attempt to redeem Zionism.

Draper is good on Marx and yes Stalinism is crap but it's pretty much nonsense to categorise Lenin, Trotsky Luxemburg as advocates of 'Socialism from Below' - more like 'from below and above', better off to just own it.
Revisiting a Marxist classic: Hal Draper’s ‘Two Souls of Socialism’. US socialist Hal Draper wrote Two Souls of Socialism in 1966 while working as a librarian at the University of California Berkeley. It remains a valuable contribution. redflag.org.au/article/revis…

"This truth has been documented and is known from the very first day thanks to Palestinian journalists. More than 200 of them were killed by Israel in Gaza. Their voices were silenced and denied. We believe that the denial of a crime is what helps it persist."
‘NAZA’, a film about Israel’s genocide in Gaza won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. Co-director Yuval Abraham said Israeli officers described the mass killing of Palestinians as ‘not by accident, but by design’, and accused the US and Europe of enabling it.

How would this have been a bad thing? That would have been very good and brave thing to do. What the fuck are people talking about
Feels to me like a couple of Germans making a movie about the holocaust as it was happening. I don’t know, I just can’t shake the feeling that it’s so deeply disrespectful to do this even with the best of intentions - to look at the genocide and still say “we should do this film”
