The Bureau of Land Management approved blasting through 100-foot canyon walls at the entrance to the world's longest art gallery. So oil tankers can drive through it. Nine Mile Canyon, Utah holds more than 10,000 cultural, historical and archaeological resources, including over 1,000 known rock art sites containing more than 10,000 individual images. People have used this canyon for at least 8,000 years. The blasting happens in Gate Canyon, the entrance corridor into that gallery. Federal surveys have already found 47 historic sites along this one stretch of road alone. And it's not only the rock art. Threatened Mexican spotted owls use cliff habitat in the canyon, including areas near the proposed blasting. BLM did the minimum environmental review required and barreled ahead anyway, to move oil out of the Uinta Basin faster. Up to 1,000 vehicles a day, roughly half of them heavy tankers. This isn't BLM's first swing at this road. Duchesne County tried the same realignment in 2015 and again in 2022. Both times, public opposition killed it. This time, BLM posted it quietly in March with no public notice, denied conservation groups' request to even weigh in, and approved it in April anyway. It's the same playbook that just got this administration stopped at Big Bend National Park, except "stopped" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. There, a judge halted construction October 2nd, but only after bulldozers had already torn through the park’s grounds. A win in court doesn't un-crush what's already crushed. Three groups sued over Gate Canyon this week. But a lawsuit takes months. A blasting crew takes days. #DemsUnited 🧵

$6 BILLION. Of taxpayer money. While the Hunter Biden hunters stay silent. Obscene.
An ABC News analysis found defense companies backed by President Trump's sons have now raked in more than $6 billion dollars in active or promised government contracts since those investments were made, according to government data. Read more: abcnews.link/I6Efk6P

THE CIA'S SECOND-IN-COMMAND JUST FIRED THE AGENCY'S LAWYER AND HIRED HIMSELF Michael Ellis. Deputy Director of the CIA. This week he walked into the general counsel's office, removed the person whose entire job is to tell the CIA when it's breaking the law, and installed himself in the seat Read that again. The man running covert operations is now also the man who approves whether those covert operations are legal. No separation. No independent check. Just Ellis, grading his own homework, in the most secretive agency in the federal government There is no oversight body watching this happen in real time. No confirmation hearing. No public vote. One trusted Trump loyalist just erased the one internal brake that existed inside the CIA's legal chain This is the same Michael Ellis who Trump tried to install as NSA general counsel back in 2020 and got blocked for being too political to trust with classified legal judgment Didn't matter. Trump brought him back anyway. Promoted him anyway. And now he's unsupervised, sitting on both sides of the legal review process for one of the most powerful intelligence agencies on planet earth Compare that to a career CIA analyst who needs three signatures and a security review just to expense a cab ride Ellis needed zero signatures to seize legal authority over his own conduct This isn't a personnel shuffle. This is Donald Trump's pattern, repeating inside the one agency where nobody is supposed to see it happen Schedule F for the civil service. Loyalty tests for prosecutors. Acting officials who answer only to Trump. And now the CIA's own watchdog function, swallowed whole by the guy it was supposed to watch When the people checking the power and the people holding the power are the same person, that's not an intelligence agency anymore That's a black box with Donald Trump's name on the door And nobody elected Michael Ellis to anything

He is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for his mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! A volunteer writes: Baby has so much awesomeness going for him. He's handsome, hearty, and loves his treats (a bowl of tuna, yum!). Not long after he arrived at the Care Center, he accepted soft pettings from staffers and returned the affection with slow blinks. He enjoys batting around pipe cleaner toys and is by turns active and then a couch potato. Baby would benefit from a new pet parent who speaks cat and can sense when he might be overstimulated, yet also understand when he needs some play time to work out any extra energy. He's people oriented, but he also has an independent streak. We don't know exactly what happened in his previous home, but we're hoping that blemish on his record won't hold him back from finding the family he deserves. Arrange a meet-and-greet with our misunderstood Baby today. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke @mehser12 💔😿🙏Thank you
